A combination of collage, new experimental records and other bits and bobs, Mid-Valley Mutations is a tour through the mind of Austin Rich, who has been broadcasting in some form since 1998. Heavily influenced by Dr Demento, Don Joyce and old fashioned College Radio, Austin creates Audio Essays on a variety of subjects, and even just plays records, from time to time. Sometimes Live music and Interviews will grace the program, helping create a situation where you don't really know what you're going to hear, when you tune in. What you need to know is when you enter the Mid-Valley region, be prepared for the Musical Mutations... in whatever form they take.

I have the new Oxygen 49 which is M-Audio finally listening to the people. They retired the Axiom line and combined all the features of the Code series (which nobody bought because it was outrageously priced at $600) with the Oxygen price tag. A friend still uses my old Trigger Finger lol

In case you couldn't quite hear it: this group of musicians had never played in this configuration before, and got one afternoon to hear the material before they started playing. (And not much of one, as I understand it.) Aside from a few basslines that were worked out ahead, most of this is being improvised.

I was so over-prepared for my call yesterday, I deep cleaned The Lava Lamp Lounge, and took a shower. Turned out the call was NOT video, and they preferred I just used audio. So... I have a very clean office, and a nice fresh shave... for myself, I guess?
