re CAN (a musing): i was so blown away when I first heard CAN - via the EGE BAMYASI album (when I was 16, circa 1981). I felt as if I finally found a “progressive music” that really transported me ! (as compared to the usual prog bands so many of us were first exposed to via typical radio, media, so-called friends).
Little did I know what a diverse treasure trove awaited me via CAN’s astounding early albums to their merely worthy period (imo, 1968-1977). Not to mention some pretty great off-shoot solo excursions (especially Holger Czukay’s).
Anyway, my fave is still FUTURE DAYS !
(with a pet fave being “Unlimited Edition” 2xLP !)
I so wish I could have seen them in concert circa 1972-1973.

The few pure special effects shots (of spaceships etc.) are all redone, right? I think it’s been years since I’ve seen the untainted original versions where it was often impossible to tell what was supposed ti be happening.

Thanks for sharing (re CAN musings, formative impressions, etc).
Anybody know of any more Mark Hollis (solo / post Talk Talk) releases of rarities or collections beyond that one beautiful self titled solo album (1998) ?

Hmm...I looked at Daniel's description of this track quickly and thought he was claiming this track was by Karl Malone.
He was a great basketball player, but I doubt he could write music this good.
Now Muggsey Bogues... maybe.

Hate to make another bummer post, but we are only a couple of weeks into 2023 and we've already lost so many music greats.
We lost Sylvain Sylvain of The New York Dolls on Friday January 13th. He was 69.

Sorry guys I'm just hearing about it now. You're right he died in 2021. I have no idea why it popped up in my Facebook feed just recently.
Everyone I asked hadn't heard about it to this day.
Still hitting me like it just happened as I didn't know.
Will definitely check my newsfeed on Facebook better in the future.
Thanks for straightening me out.
