I am hoping to hear a concert tonight by cellist Clarice Jensen. Her recent album is all cello, but heavily looped and processed to create a huge soundscape. I’ll be interested to hear what she can do live.

Sam Segal played some Akchote on his equestrian snow, like hs playing (so much that I went for the "buy his whole catalog" option, for the very low sum of approximately $30, not realizing that I was purchasing 513 albums -need to learn t read the fine print). I now have my life's work cut out for me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:36am

Please report back, @LG! Jensen has a new record out that I have yet to hear.

Sounds cool, @LG, let us know how it was!
I'm going to hear some music tonight, pretty much know what I'll be getting-The Falcoln, Upstate NY, has The Steven Bernstein Millenial Territory Orchestra. Anything by Bernstein is fun (seen the Orchestra about a year ago, they are fabulous, and they recently released a series of fine albums).

Not sure I can hear why these needed to be Rennaissance-instruments (or are they using them?)
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 9:47am

So this record is contemporary composers writing for renaissance instruments?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:48am

I exclude sheets from my folding enjoyment. Shaving sucks.

I want to know if there's sackbut. Mostly I just wanted to type "sackbut".

This particular record (Kagel) is just two side-long pieces, only one of which used the Renaissance intstruments.

Sounds like Henrik Wallin is playing Mysterioso but doesn't know where the line ends and so just keeps on ascending.

Yeah, that's what I am hearing, too.

I’m probably taking my Ken McIntyre show out of circulation soon so I’ll put this link here

Mixcloud is limiting the number of shows you can have in circulation. New policy. But I think I can rotate old shows in and out

The Shepp / Parlan duets are great!

This is such a fine record. Parlan really brings out the tenderness in Shepp's playing.

I played a Lester Bowie/Nobuyoshi Ino duet of "Goin' Home" a fdew weeks ago. It provides such an expansive emotional canvass to fill.

@Andrew > Great, Andrew! Hope Bert is doing well. Seems like another lifetime when I re-live flipping through the vinyl bins @ Vortex down on Dundas.

Who do we think is doing the vocals on this Triangle song? I'm guessing Pullen, on very little basis.

Jeff Golick:

Thanks for the link, @DJpeter.
I think I missed that, @Doug. Will have to go back.
'Tis Pullen, I believe, @LG.

Thank you for the link DJpeterDE. I do need to vary my listening diet to include more than WFMU streams some time.
