Hi mce1965...
Avatar 6:30pm
MOM WHIG:

mce1965 - good to see you here
Avatar 6:30pm
cometothesunshine:

Thanks - it only took playing every 45 to find the best sounding ones!
  6:31pm
Carmelita:

And I know you must have an enormous number of 45s to play to find the best!
Avatar 6:32pm
cometothesunshine:

I have about 6000 45's and the ones I like I often have more than one copy
Avatar 6:32pm
cometothesunshine:

So for these repeats, I transfer every one that applies and pick the best sounding copy after they are processed.
Avatar 6:34pm
Natalie:

Since the topic of your collection has arisen, may I ask your method of cataloging/organizing? I can't seem to find what works best for me.
  6:34pm
Carmelita:

Wow! Well I sure appreciate all the time and effort to collect them and transfer them etc.
Avatar 6:35pm
cometothesunshine:

Alphabetical, Natalie and then within records by a group, chronological
Avatar 6:36pm
cometothesunshine:

I usually can find most things - but I make mistakes!
  6:36pm
Cheri:

I’ve always organized records the same way. Alphabetically then chronologically. Granted I have never had 6000 just around 1000
Avatar 6:37pm
cometothesunshine:

I am constantly getting rid of stuff too!
Avatar 6:38pm
Natalie:

I get tripped up with genres the most. Sometimes I think I want to go to a "mood". But that seems to overcomplicate the organization.
  6:39pm
Cheri:

Me too . I have a friend who has 10,000 and has a 200 play jukebox from the 60s that he is always switching the records around in.
  6:41pm
Richard:

I hear at least 3 other songs referenced already!

Hi, Andrew! This PP&M song falls under the category of "try to spoof rock & roll but accidentally make a great rock & roll song in the process."

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:47pm
Gaylord Fields:

Hiya, sw2442!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm

@Andrew: @Erica: The accuracy of whichever of PP&M (Mary?) did the Donovan imitation adds to the song's nastiness.

An irony of the 70's was that as audio gear got better, vinyl got worse due to the oil crisis. Nowhere was that heard more than on the UA ELO LP's I was buying. Later on they improved.
