If you're like me - and I know I am - then you probably miss going to bars and clubs a fair amount. (I haven't been "out" since we started isolation.)

When it's safe again, I'm torn regarding the first bar I should go to. Portland has two: The Coffin Club, and Creepys, that are both weird and wonderful and have great drinks. And then in Eugene, there's an actual Tiki bar, with a patio and whatnot, that we still haven't checked out. Those those are the bars I dream about at night.

The Coffin Club and Creepys both sound very fun.
Avatar 🍒 Swag For Life Member 7:23pm

Coffin Club is the goth bar in PDX. Lots of spooky DJs and weird drinks and actual coffins and weird lovecraft crap on the walls, and all the old elder punks hang out and dance and complain and it's GREAT.

Creepys has good weird paintings, plants, strange sculptures, and other "creepy" stuff that the owners collect and arrange in the bar. Plus: lots of velvet paintings. The drinks there are fantastic.

I know what you mean, Austin - I did Tiki Oasis festival a year ago, then back to hiding from the world. Even tho I got my booster, I'm not really in the habit of going out much. But Mrs Fab and i did recently go to a mini-festival called Tiki Noir that really was more monster/goth than noir. Def tiki, tho. Some excellent band like The Hula Girls played, burlesque dancers did their thing, cocktails were quite good. Felt good to be back.

And those Portland joints sound way cool! Now I know what to do should I ever visit the frozen northlands.

I have a love/hate relationship with vinyl. It's really cool and I love to play it around the house. But for my show, for some reason I go insane and try to clean up every single little tick and pop. serious waste of my time, but I'm super OCD about it.

I find that I have a certain prejudice toward enjoying music old enough to contain a crackle, where I expect it to already be good. But if I'm recording music? Better be razor-sharp, super-clean. We can add a layer of noise afterwards, if necessary.
