Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13pm
Beneath the Underground:

And this live Richard Hell and the Voidoids is SMOKING!
Avatar 11:14pm
Mr Fab:

MHLee, this might be a semi-logical reason, but after his first album he kinda disappeared and never released much. Not very prolific.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33pm
MHLee:

Almost personality crisis for a moment
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36pm
MHLee:

@MRFab probably right but Blank Generation feels like it should be a seminal punk album but a lot of people with a decent interest in punk look blank when you mention it
Avatar 11:43pm
Mr Fab:

I feel that way about the Heartbreakers (speaking of Johnny Thunders) - I know that “LAMF” sounded like poop when it was first released, but cleaned-up versions released years later are a revelation.
Avatar 11:45pm
Mr Fab:

Check out the Red Microphone, folks - Laurie JAMS on that bass.

Eugenie Diserio:

Thank you John for playing The Dance track Stay Down which opens our Soul Force LP originally released by London label Statik Records in 1982 and now being reissued by Sundazed Records/Harmonic Music June 24. The Dance is honored and excited to be part of the amazing energy and creativity of the early 80s NYC music scene and now today to a new audience.
Awesome playlist tonight as usual and an honor to have a footnote!💃🏿🕺🎤

Thanks, all for your comments and company. We had a blast, as always…..🌈
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10am
Beneath the Underground:

@MHLee and Mr Fab: the excitement of Richard Hell’s first album was hard to match. His follow-up didn’t have the same quality and after the original Voidoids broke up, he tried again, but then returned to his true calling—writing. His fiction is intense, insightful and confessional. And his criticism is carries a special urgency
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11am
Beneath the Underground:

My apology @eugeniediserio - I misspoke on the title, re: track by the Dance
  12:34am
Eugenie Diserio:

No worries John. Yes track you played tonight was Stay Down (sounded so great) But thank you for mentioning our Soul Force our LP rerelease Another rock trivia is that Fred Maher who played with Material and Lou Reed was actually the original drummer of The Dance …
