We had a pair of geese with a handful of goslings, but the little ones were only around for a day. The pair is still here, but no babies (though it could be a different pair, I didn't check IDs). A couple hawks and herons. Gonna be a big snake year if the amount of sea grass already established is any indicator (and it usually is). Oooh, and a neighbor told me she saw a pair of skates doing a little dance off her pier!

	🥀 ♥ 4:02pm McGroovey: There are multiple verses of Hallelujah that are rarely heard. I think I remember hearing or reading an interview with Leonard Cohen or John Cale, talking about Hallelujah. Cale told Cohen he wanted to cover it, asked Cohen for the correct lyrics, and Cohen sent Cale verses that weren't on the original Leonard Cohen album version, and Cale picked his favorites. Cohen apparently started doing it live John Cale's way after that. That's more-or-less the story. I think the Jeff Buckley version also follows the John Cale version (which is on the Cale album Fragments of a Rainy Season).

Since I'm not plugged into pop culture, I didn't know EVERYONE was covering it until I went to a couple open mics, and EVERYONE was covering it, and then I checked on YouTube, and EVERYONE on YouTube was covering it. I only had heard the LC, Cale, and Jeff Buckley versions until then. It was the first song I learned to play on the ukulele, and the only song I can always remember without looking for my song charts (even my own songs). But I'd never play it in front of other people because EVERYONE plays it more-than-enough.

Cale told Cohen he wanted to cover it, asked Cohen for the correct lyrics, and Cohen sent Cale verses that weren't on the original Leonard Cohen album version, and Cale picked his favorites. Cohen apparently started doing it live John Cale's way after that. That's more-or-less the story. I think the Jeff Buckley version also follows the John Cale version (which is on the Cale album Fragments of a Rainy Season).

Since I'm not plugged into pop culture, I didn't know EVERYONE was covering it until I went to a couple open mics, and EVERYONE was covering it, and then I checked on YouTube, and EVERYONE on YouTube was covering it. I only had heard the LC, Cale, and Jeff Buckley versions until then. It was the first song I learned to play on the ukulele, and the only song I can always remember without looking for my song charts (even my own songs). But I'd never play it in front of other people because EVERYONE plays it more-than-enough.
