ChukAmok: I *think* that Scottish lochs are, technically, glacially formed. The sea lochs are essentially fjords, and the freshwater lochs are spring-fed glacial ponds. From what I recall, there's only one (stream-fed) lake in Scotland.

ceol, that's a kind of blasphemy around here. A true believer would say lox can only be created from wild, not farm-raised, salmon. True wild salmon are muscled and delicious, farm-raised are scarcely the same species and are only *pink* because of the dye in the feed.
But I digress.
And, hello, deep and dark fish.

salmon swim upstream in freshwater to procreate, so they are at once freshwater and saltwater fish.

One of my father's friends brought over a bunch of Python LPs from old Blighty, and we pestered my father to get Python on Connecticut Public TV, where he was a trustee.

And you try to tell the young people today that, and they won't believe you.

Python got on Public Broadcasting in the USA a few years after they wrapped up the series in the UK. I collided with them in Junior High School - something like - 1976, 7 ?? Probly late for the USA in fact...
PBS was a lot less Bougie then. Like everything else...

Arthur Frampton is the man with three buttocks. Due to this physical condition, he is interviewed on a television programme, but he refuses to show his extra buttock. A proof, he cites that his cycling partner, Arthur Figgis, has seen his backside.

Watching the Python episodes again (has the boxset) - it is as much about the Segues & screwing with Forms as the Sketches we all quote ! The animation, editing & direction. All quite masterful & meta.

Story I didn't know until just now:
ABC buys the shorter season #4 of Python shows after the PBS run of the first 3 seasons -- post-Holy Grail (and without Cleese).
ABC cuts the HELL out of the material for commercial time tightening and their own censoring decisions. Python sues, saying potential new TV-film-book audiences will get the wrong idea from the considerably de-Pythonized stuff, and claims copyright agreement disallows cuts. ABC says they can't cancel without inflicting big harm on itself. Cut and uncut skit version played to compare in court. It was all aired by ABC as a single program before case was sorted out..eventually some sort of agreement and money, with BBC involved in judgment outcome.
And ABC...wins a freakin' Emmy for the special!
(Joe Besser voice: "Ooh, they make me SO mad!")
