Discotech Underground is actually two...two...two shows in one!

The first half is a "Happy Hour" of sorts (because it's five o'clock somewhere, right?), spinning the kinds of sounds you might have heard at a real, authentic 1960's DISCOTECH as cool cats and swingin' chicks danced the night away in their mod threads and mini skirts to hard-driving sounds under the flashing lights! The only thing missing are the cage dancers...but we're working on it!

The second half is for when you head home after a wild night, and ease in with the heady, trippy, mind-expanding sounds of a groovy free-form UNDERGROUND rock radio station that digs deep into their library and blows your mind all over again!

Dr. Mind-The monos are wonderful! Some people find the stereo mixes with all the instruments in one channel and all the vocals in the other difficult to listen to and the monos strike that balance perfectly! I have both on some titles but I have more monos than stereos on the Fab Four for that reason.

Kip- agree completely, though there are some UK stereos I like for various difference. Mono is really well done on the old Capitols. They sound glorious.

Dr Mind-In some cases, the US monos actually sound a bit better to my ears than the UK. I have a UK mono Help 1st press that I was actually somewhat disappointed with because it just sounded kind of flat without a lot of dynamic range. My UK mono Revolver, on the other hand, sounds great!

Dr Mind-Sonically it's the best one I have ever encountered. I did a side by side with the UK Polydor and this one won hands down. It wasn't even close. Later Reprise pressings don't even match it.

Alvy-Yes, I have and I am familiar with that CD. They played all over Detroit and elsewhere but never released anything back in the day. The survival of the tape that the CD was made from is a complete miracle! It was actually thought lost at one time.

ha! I know I've mentioned this before...when the Fillmore in SF closed down it turned into a huge rug store and instead of saying "Jefferson Airplane" on the marquee, it said "Big Remnant Sale". So....and that was on two lines so we'd joke that "Big Remnant is in town!"
