This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

Speaking of remarkable "music" films, I highly recommend the pioneering polemic masterpiece "The Cry of Jazz," by Edward Bland. I just discovered the entire thing is on Youtube. For watching on an evening when Flash Strap and Little Danny aren't holding court! Here's the link: youtu.be...

Tomorrow on my show, I will be playing a gobsmacking piece for chamber orchestra by Ed Bland which he describes as heavily inspired by Stravinsky and The Rite of Spring. Simply uncategorizable sounds.

unbelievably freaky psych from India here, wish I had a week of stuff like this

D.U.- sounds likely. In case no one's heard it the eponymous 2nd Fugs slab is worth a listen. Especially its Virgin Forest suite. Also, liner notes by Allen Ginsberg.

Sounds like I woke up from my nap into a dad blasted freak-about! Isn't that what the kids call it?

that Millonarios was fantastic!
Avatar 9:17pm
Flash Strap:

a pretty much unbelievable piece of next-level exotica from Migliardi here
Avatar 9:17pm
abbazabba:

This group’s name, los millionarios, reminds me of the bitter rival between Argentina soccer clubs Boca Juniors and River Plate (aka los millionarios). Those fans are absolutely crazy about that rivalry. Maybe the best rivalry in all of sports in the world
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:17pm
Little Danny:

wow, yeah this is incredible! totally new to me
Avatar 9:18pm
Flash Strap:

I agree Mantarray, i love that whole record to death and pretty much everything else from Los Millionarios / Los Diplomaticos in that period

Those water dripping sounds at tge beginning of the Safari totally had me checking the sink for source of dripping before I realized it was from the phone in my pocket...

very "blue sands" this
Avatar 9:20pm

@LD: totally agree, i actually had to make myself cut a lot of "blue sands"-esque stuff from this set to keep it from getting too samey even tho that's a mode i love without end
Avatar 9:21pm
Flash Strap:

@WR: love that, when music messes with you
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:21pm
