	🥁 ♥ 12:36pm doctorjazz: D(iL), glad it was "bloody terrific" (being a New Jersey-er, I can't say "Bloody Terrific" without putting quotes around it, price we pay...). SOK were lots of fun, non stop dance/energy show, went with my 28 year old daughter, she loved it (I told her it was "make up" for taking her to see Nels Cline once- dissonant. jolting electronic sounds that whole show, she wasn't too happy...). It was nice being to a ostensibly jazz show, and having the average age of the audience much lower than my age (which sometimes is at the low end of the age range at more typical jazz shows).

	🥁 ♥ 12:48pm doctorjazz: I work seeing people, never actually had full isolation because I always had to go to the office. I mask as much as possible (though it's amazing how NY/NJ pretty much dropped masking all of a sudden. I'd say 90-95% of people I see now at concerts, stores, other indoor venues are not masked.But I just LOVE going to hear live music, so nice to be doing it again (hopefully not famous last words). I still use my N95 mask most of the time (have to take it off to eat or drink, of course). Thinking it's about time to get a second booster, though...
	12:50pm rw: Huh. Looks like the Sparks shows in LA are sold out. I've never been to a show at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery but the cemetery itself is pretty insane. Sounds like a fun one. Then there's Coachella but I'm not going to Coachella.

	🥁 ♥ 12:51pm Phillippe: Cool, Handy. We don't see loons around here, unless you want to count the people who live in my house. We have a pair of cormorants that hang in the cove -- luckily they sit on one of the other piers and do their poopin' there, cuz they are messy critters
	🥁 ♥ 12:54pm Handy Haversack: Loons pass through here, Phillippe, as they often winter on salt water before heading back inland and north with spring. We have tons of cormorants here once the spring gets going. I love them! I should send you some pix of U Thant island, which is tailings from when they dug the Queens-Midtown Tunnel. An artist erected metal scaffolding and hung prayer flags on it some decades back, and now it's a major cormorant and gull roosting site. There's a little eddy there that you can tuck a couple of canoes into and hang out to watch them, which is a lot of fun when there are chicks in the nests.

	🥁 ♥ 1:06pm Phillippe: Yeah, Handy, those cormorant nesting places can turn into a mess. They've taken over a small island in the Bay, from what I've heard. Any of those roosting places can get disgusting. I was in a part of (redacted) that was on the migratory path from (redacted) to (redacted). There weren't a lot of resting places on the voyage, but the (redacted) that I was on had trees lining the sidewalks and a very large (redacted) that had a wide mesh that was perfect for birds. During migratory season, people walked down the middle of the streets instead of on the sidewalks because there was so much bird doo-doo dropping from the trees. They had to use a bobcat every couple days to remove the poop from the base of the (redacted)

SOK were lots of fun, non stop dance/energy show, went with my 28 year old daughter, she loved it (I told her it was "make up" for taking her to see Nels Cline once- dissonant. jolting electronic sounds that whole show, she wasn't too happy...). It was nice being to a ostensibly jazz show, and having the average age of the audience much lower than my age (which sometimes is at the low end of the age range at more typical jazz shows).

	🥁 ♥ 12:48pm doctorjazz: I work seeing people, never actually had full isolation because I always had to go to the office. I mask as much as possible (though it's amazing how NY/NJ pretty much dropped masking all of a sudden. I'd say 90-95% of people I see now at concerts, stores, other indoor venues are not masked.But I just LOVE going to hear live music, so nice to be doing it again (hopefully not famous last words). I still use my N95 mask most of the time (have to take it off to eat or drink, of course). Thinking it's about time to get a second booster, though...
	12:50pm rw: Huh. Looks like the Sparks shows in LA are sold out. I've never been to a show at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery but the cemetery itself is pretty insane. Sounds like a fun one. Then there's Coachella but I'm not going to Coachella.

	🥁 ♥ 12:54pm Handy Haversack: Loons pass through here, Phillippe, as they often winter on salt water before heading back inland and north with spring. We have tons of cormorants here once the spring gets going. I love them! I should send you some pix of U Thant island, which is tailings from when they dug the Queens-Midtown Tunnel. An artist erected metal scaffolding and hung prayer flags on it some decades back, and now it's a major cormorant and gull roosting site. There's a little eddy there that you can tuck a couple of canoes into and hang out to watch them, which is a lot of fun when there are chicks in the nests.

	🥁 ♥ 1:06pm Phillippe: Yeah, Handy, those cormorant nesting places can turn into a mess. They've taken over a small island in the Bay, from what I've heard. Any of those roosting places can get disgusting. I was in a part of (redacted) that was on the migratory path from (redacted) to (redacted). There weren't a lot of resting places on the voyage, but the (redacted) that I was on had trees lining the sidewalks and a very large (redacted) that had a wide mesh that was perfect for birds. During migratory season, people walked down the middle of the streets instead of on the sidewalks because there was so much bird doo-doo dropping from the trees. They had to use a bobcat every couple days to remove the poop from the base of the (redacted)
