	♥ 10:05pm minkwest: I'd call in Marty but it would make me sad. Shout out to my Dad who would have turned 93 next Wed. He loved music. He loved to sing and be a ham. It was a fraction of his otherwise curmudgeonly personality but he let me play my music in the car and I could pass him Leonard Cohen and Lee Hazelwood and he really enjoyed them.

People that go to see them want the "normal" Floyd stuff... I also work with a funk soul cover band. lots of New Orleans tunes, Texas blues, funkified Dead tunes... I really have fun with the 3 or 4 piece horn section they have.

At the gallery talk we did with the students who were all sitting on the floor in front of us, this one sassy young thing made some smart aleck remark, then got up and sashayed out of the gallery. A couple of weeks later, I walked into a cafe near my house in Pasadena, and she was in there with some guy. She saw me, stood up and marched over and started telling me how she liked to get totally blasted and crank Dark Side Of The Moon in her 240Z while pushing the gas pedal all the way to the floor on the freeway. I asked her who her friend was. She said, "Oh him? that's my boyfriend" with a sneer on her face. That's one I decided to pass on.

A couple of weeks later, I walked into a cafe near my house in Pasadena, and she was in there with some guy. She saw me, stood up and marched over and started telling me how she liked to get totally blasted and crank Dark Side Of The Moon in her 240Z while pushing the gas pedal all the way to the floor on the freeway. I asked her who her friend was. She said, "Oh him? that's my boyfriend" with a sneer on her face. That's one I decided to pass on.
