Otis:

Good day. Grass is Green. Roses in bloom. Buildings have eyes.
Avatar 1:58pm
Mr Fab:

I thought that "the hills have eyes"?

Maybe the buildings are keeping an eye on the hills. I do find hills a bit suspicious.
Avatar 2:01pm
Sonderangebot:

My eyes have buildings!
Avatar 2:01pm
David in California:

Mr. Fab, according to Maria von Trapp, the hills are alive.

Sheena's Jungle Room. Or how I like to call it, the HBO of alt-streams.
Avatar 2:27pm
Mr Fab:

HBO = Here Because of Otis

Bri:

Haha yep Mr. Fab

For years, I thought Chicago was singing "just you and me, simpler than three."
  2:55pm
Kat in Chicago:

I heard some Awful Trumpet there
Avatar 3:01pm
Mr Fab:

David: funny! But hey, in those swingin days of the "sexual revolution" that might very well have been a real concern.
Avatar 3:03pm
David in California:

Mr. Fab, it could have been an answer to the Rascals singing "life could be ecstasy, you and me and Leslie."
  3:04pm
Kat in Chicago:

This is… something

I prefer rescue vinyl versus expensive reissues. Who rescued who?, as the pet bumpersticker goes.

Howdy hey!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm

The TuneIn app still thinks this time slot is the Jason Elbogen show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm

Franco, your shirt was featured prominently on Uncle Michael's Twitch simulcast.

Franco, hey buddy! Hi all, spinning the discs so not so much in chat, but you are all so much in my heart.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm
Rich in Washington:

@Franco: Yeah, today.
Also, took a big family pic and gave them out to family for Xmas and I'm wearing mine in it. Also, Scott67 posted a Covid booster selfie and he's wearing one.
Product placement. Now everyone will want one.

I was just thinking about this record yesterday, Otis! Why, though?
Avatar 3:19pm
Mr Fab:

I wore one for a magazine interview, but we'll see if they use it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm
Rich in Washington:

pretty soon we're gonna see a picture of Miley Cyrus wearing a $400 knockoff of it.

Kat in Chicago:

Second time I’ve heard “Beth” this week, yikes. Other time was an OTE archive with Dick Vaughn
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm

That's immediately what I thought of too, Kat!
  3:24pm
Kat in Chicago:

The all-femme band Scrawl did sort of an answer song called “Charles” that I love a lot
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm
Franco Twinkie:

I missed Uncle Michaels show because I went hiking this morning, followed by a session of been a cafe slouch. I've certainly got a lot of traction out of that shirt. Thank you all, you know what an attention hog I am. When I got home a little while ago, Chresti was wearing one, and it's not because we sleep together - she actually likes it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm
Franco Twinkie:

What magazine Fab?
Avatar 3:27pm
Otis:

I am wearing my Sheena shirt now, I wear it on Friday for this show and Misty Ginger this eve.
Avatar 3:30pm

Franco, it's called Second Scene. Look, my name's up top! www.facebook.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm
Franco Twinkie:

Is it on magazine stands?
Avatar 3:33pm
Mr Fab:

I don't know. There AREN'T many newsstands around much anymore! But was thinking of swingin by Amoeba to see if they carry it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm

Good call. Also, Vromans in Pasadena and Skylight in Los Feliz.

Everything's fine we're all fine here... how're you?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm
Franco Twinkie:

Feldy, hey!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm
Rich in Washington:

I remember when The Final Cut came out, our local TV station played their long-form promo video for it one Sunday afternoon. Like an hour's worth of Roger Waters' whingey music and film. It was super depressing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm
Feldy:

Hey Franco!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm
Phillippe:

I'm gonna go with fine as well
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm
Rich in Washington:

I was obsessed with The Wall as a kid. Probably somewhat akin to going through a Goth or Emo phase, via 1979.
But hearing Syd Floyd later on was a huge revelation for me, as was their post Syd, pre-Waters dominant era.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm
ironybread:

Regarding Chicago 17, "Hard Habit to Break" lands a bullseye in some power ballad / eighties / big money / ultimate brass & orchestral arrangement / soft-focus video ridiculousness that I can't quite articulate. Still love that insane cascading sequence of suspended chord changes at the end of the last break just before it modulates up a half step. Just more evidence that there's something fundamentally wrong with my musical tastes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm
Rich in Washington:

We're all deeply flawed individuals whose taste for the peculiar cannot be slaked by Spotify. We should be taken somewhere for social adjustment.
Avatar 3:47pm
Otis:

I never say never with a song or artist or album. My tastes have morphed so much in time and continue to do so. Watch, I'll be playing Chicago 17 next year, possible, totally!
Avatar 3:48pm
Mr Fab:

Jeez, I may have to actually listen to that Chicago song out of morbid curiosity. Curse you, ironybread! But bless you for your intensely deep dive into Monty Pythons Flying Circus, which continues tomorrow. Listen to "Fuji Puzzle Box," folks.
Avatar 3:48pm
Otis:

.... well except for certain artists. Wonder who has my Bill Cosby Kids Drug album now. Who cares.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm
Rich in Washington:

Yeah, there's not telling. I now think 'Maybe I'll like this in the future, but not right now'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm
Rich in Washington:

I have it, Otis.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm
Franco Twinkie:

Thanks Otis.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm

I love the Charlotte Gainsbourg version of that song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm

Ironybread, I'm going to sit down for a serious listen to Chicago 17 this coming week. I may fall in again as I did like it on first release but fell out shortly after. Thanks pal.
