Enjoying the range of MM recordings you are presenting. There are many musicians in pop who appreciated and could play various styles. MM was remarkable that they got to record the different styles and were successful enough to keep recording for many years (with different personnel).

That's the same Paul Jones who did a lounge-style cover of Sex Pistols and Ramones back in 1978: https://www.discogs.com/master/610214-Paul-Jones-Pretty-Vacant-Sheena-Is-A-Punk-Rocker

i don't think it could be the sexpistols Paul Jones. the age doesn't add up

@Andrew in Toronto: Bob and were just saying how Ronnie Lane-adjacent McGuinness Flint were. It's all about the mandolins!

?:

The Sex Pistols didn't have a Paul Jones. They had a Steve Jones and a Paul Cook. The Paul Jones who did the covers is the one Bob's been playing.

Great show, Bob and Pete. I'd never listened to Manfred Mann in this detail. I feel like there's a new place in my mind adjacent to both the Kinks and NRBQ.
