hello where am I, ears are happy, oh right it's Wednesday :)
  3:07pm wendy del formaggio:

Oh! I used to be in a sorta gang with Jon Appleton about 20 years ago. I had no idea he’d played w Don Cherry. I’m not surprised though.

Hey Scott and buddies!
  3:13pm wendy del formaggio:

Krys O.: Yes, the very same. I was living not far from Dartmouth, and we had close mutual friends. Jon gave me my copy of “Road To Ruin.” He was getting rid of records his kids or step-kids or something had left at his house.
  3:15pm wendy del formaggio:

Vermont has/had lotsa electronic music pioneers hiding in its hills. I used to work for Charles Dodge, but nothing to do with music. He and his wife own a winery.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm joe mulligan:

Hi Scott and all! I don't know why, but Don Cherry, Sun Ra, Pharoah Sanders, and Alice Coltrane always feel Christmas-y to me.

And Charles and Kate are still making wine. They win awards. It’s really good. Non-grape fruit wines.

Re VT, I used to live in the former Philo Records recording studio, a converted barn.
  3:23pm wendy del formaggio:

That's wonderful, Wendy!
Avatar 3:24pm βrian:

Monkton. Between Burlington and Middlebury.
  3:27pm wendy del formaggio:

That gang broke up, but I have so many good memories from it. Vermont is such a magical place, beyond all the touristy / beer-bro shit most of us run away from. Weirdos abound in these hills. THAT’S THE WAY I LIKE ‘EM!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm Ken From Hyde Park:

A buddy and I once toured the massive marble works in Proctor, VT.
  3:29pm Dayffid:

Is this a cover of a Nick Drake song or is it just reminiscent of one ?
Avatar 3:29pm βrian:

I also spent a fair amount of time in the Norwich area.
  3:29pm wendy del formaggio:

@Brian: I just looked up Philco. Very cool! You lived in a former pig barn. Such a VT story: pig barn —> record label —> someone’s home.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm joe mulligan:

very true Wendy. so much good stuff in VT. if they had coastline we woulda moved there. but then it would be Maine I guess, which is not so bad either!
Avatar 3:32pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Who has carrot cake?
  3:32pm wendy del formaggio:

Norwich is close to where I was in that gang. It was White River Jct aka “Rio Blanco.” I know it’s touristy, but I do love King Arthur Flour, which is near there. A gorgeous shop, and the company is worker-owned! 🌹
Avatar 3:32pm βrian:

Yep, replete with caboose, where Utah Philips was said to reside for a time.

King Arthur is my go-to baking flour.
  3:35pm wendy del formaggio:

@Brian: Wow! An important caboose, for sure! In my 20s I was visiting a famous commune in Guilford (the town just south of mine). I sat on a bench by a piano in a common room, and our host said, “Taj Mahal played here, on that piano.” Well then!
  3:37pm wendy del formaggio:

King Arthur flour is the best!

I use a flourless chocolate cake recipe from King Arthur. That's saying something if a flour company shares a flour-less recipe.

Do not accept endocrine disruptors in your cookies this year. There's been enough of that already....hey Scott and all!
  3:40pm wendy del formaggio:

@Dayffid - that the recipe! I melt the chocolate and butter over the stove instead of microwave (mainly because i'm scared of burning it in the microwave - haha). I usually top it with blueberries and raspberries too.

  4:01pm Butterfly Hill:

Yup. An old Italian man in Lygon St Melbourne in a little blue and white striped apron was on the street calling out his specials... Couldn't resist. He was the only chef and waiter of his tiny hole in the wall. It was like a dream! Since then I cook it at home whenever I can and honestly it's impossible to mess up. peas, broccolini, anything jams

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm Ike:

I prefer an oven for melting cheeses and cheese products onto crunchy things such as tortilla chips from the corner tortilleria. (If they were smart, they'd label them "bespoke tortilla chips" and then they could charge twice as much for them in Park Slope, but instead they just sell them out of clear Ziploc-type bags.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm steveo:

Sam came in here to work on his homework and he says this music is distracting, I think that's a compliment

PlaySkool's neat little My First Microwave comes with five complementary bags of popcorn kernels.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm Ike:

I don't have any space for a microwave, nor do I know what I'd use it for, besides reheating rice. Reheating rice doesn't seem vitally important. I just try to make the right amount of rice in the rice cooker in the first place.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm Handy Haversack:

Sounding good, Scott! Got me through a family phone call!

Happy winter, Juli.
Avatar 4:29pm βrian:

@Ike: Yes, I protect kitchen space, so that's a big consideration. We generally reheat things with a steamer.
Swag For Life Member 4:30pm lpfnrobin:

Im with you Ike.....I have been in this position before regarding re-heating rice. I just dont know, what is this? not ok with it for my loves.....
  4:31pm Butterfly Hill:

Bye for now everyone and thank you for the vibes. Marry Xmas xx
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm steveo:

if i didn't have a microwave i would put leftover in a saucepan with a lil bit of water and put the lid on and let it steam a little
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm steveo:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm Ken From Hyde Park:

See ya, Butterfly! If you're anywhere near Bendigo, hit up Trash Cult and ask if Scott is in the building.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm Ike:

Ah! A steamer! Thanks for reminding me. I only have one of those upper-level steam trays for the rice cooker, but the holes are too big. (That's what she said!) So much of the rice falls through.
Swag For Life Member 4:33pm lpfnrobin:

Maybe Microwaves are best left at helping my nearest airport out with what else is around here....maybe, assuming they know what to do with that data. I said popcorn it read as rice...see?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm tim from washington:

Is this Destroy All Monsters Niagara?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm Handy Haversack:

Never had a microwave. I have to use the oven to make toast, even. We don't have counterspace. We more have like countercounterspace.
  4:35pm Dayffid:

No microwave for us either , no room and get by fine without
Swag For Life Member 4:36pm lpfnrobin:

That wilderness camper dialog sounds familiar. I think I've seen the old film of this but can't remember the title.
  5:13pm School Marm:

  5:14pm Androu B.:

Howdy, Scott!

This mix is starting to remind me of The Blind Tourist. Which makes me wonder what Adriene is up to now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm Stephen O:

A very powerful wizard, yes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm Handy Haversack:

I can dig it, Androu B.
Avatar 5:20pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

wendy @4:06 - same! No microwave here since the mid 1980s, which means I'd have no idea how to use one now if i had to. Luckily, no-one ever has to.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21pm dale:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm dale:

I was offended by the misogyny vibe haha
  5:33pm wendy del formaggio:

@Turnip: Same! It’s only because the one at work, which I use about once a year, is basically made for babies is the only reason I can operate it. Haha

It is pretty I just disagree
I apologize to do so of course haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34pm Scott Williams:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34pm Ike:
