Don't know if this will come up in the interview, but Arkush directed an episode of St. Elsewhere that included a reference to The Ramones. The producers didn't want to pay for the original recording, so Arkush had to use a soundalike.

More people should cover John Cale songs. It's easier to bash out mindless Lou Reed covers, though.

Not that there's anything wrong with Lou Reed songs, but everyone already knows them and can easily bash out a few without much thought. Cale songs actually require contemplation.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm
McGroovey:

I just watching a documentary about the Monkees on YouTube (I forget the title). But someone (maybe Davy?) said that they'd been assigned the wrong instruments. Davy actually knew how to pay drums, but he was too short to be hidden behind a fun kit. Peter played guitar better than Mike, and Mike posted bass better than Peter. And Mickey could sing, but couldn't actually play anything.

But I guess they eventually learned their fake roles.
