My tin foil hat is picking up suspicious vibrations that something weird is happening to the tin foil hat DJs during the tin foil hat time slot, Mark Hurst was out yesterday. Micah is out today. Something fishy is going on here.....

So nice to listen to something you like on MMC and not have to find out all the horrible things the musicians and their followers have done.
  6:12pm

I mean, not that there’s anything wrong with — no, that’s not right either.

Ah-ha… It’s a McShowface night it seems. Excellent.

@ron-ji - so how do you think these loops got so disintegrated? Basinkski did it by enslaving new age hippies and bilking their grandmas out of millions!
  6:16pm
ron-ji:

Dang it, Tim!
  6:18pm
NikiA:

this is so good I can't turn it off even though I want to watch Ted Lasso
  6:18pm
ron-ji:

Best single-song set on FMU since the “Murder Most Foul” + monkey sounds marathon.
  6:19pm
ron-ji:

Just make this the soundtrack to Ted Lasso. You could be on to the next generation’s Dark Side /Wizard of Oz synch up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19pm
Jim the Poet:

I could play the Ted Lasso themesong after this is done

love these Disintegration Loops Jim the Poet. I was bummed I missed out on tickets in NYC for the 20th anniversary performance on 9/11/21 but less bummed when I found out it was being done by a symphony and William Basinski couldn't make it to the event.

“Disintegrated Lasso”

The Dylan/Chimp duet really improved my appreciation of Murder Most Foul. I didn't appreciate it at all until the chimp showed up.

There are a few symphonies I wouldn’t mind seeing disintegrated. And a few that nearly disintegrated me.

good news @Jim is that there are a whole set of these LPs so I think you could do like a 6-hour show of DL.

JIM! I think if you played "Devil went down to Georgia" after this, that would be the best sequence ever
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm

ron-ji:

What’s especially delightful about this is that it really IS Music of Mind Control. I think it’s often hard to get the brainwashing effect of much of the cult music Micah-ji has taught us to worship in five or ten minute samples.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm
Jim the Poet:

I was going to play Howlin' Wolf but I am wavering
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm
joe mulligan:

you could also say this is perfect music for mind control. kind of culty, def religious (of a special sort)
  6:30pm
GeoEnvi:

Honestly, this gives ambient music all the deserving ridicule it sometimes deserves.
  6:30pm

Especially the drone-y stuff. If you just THINK about it you don’t really get the full experience.

Hello Jim The Poet and freeform friends! I am testing a laptop that was glitching and freezing up recently, so I've had a 24-hour youtube video of rain falling playing on it (and it hasn't frozen yet, yay) and the rain is a nice compliment to the loops. If anyone's bored by this (but how, I ask?), I suggest adding rain sounds to it. :-)

I think we’ve all seen enough WILD, WILD COUNTRY and Columbo reruns to suspect SOMETHING is up.

Since I first raised the B-word, I feel I should note I was merely alluding to the zen (or something) koan (or whatever) about passing from boredom to fascination, a concept which clearly inspired John Cage, Pope of the Cult of Weird Music.

  6:44pm
ron-ji:

For me it’s not boredom at all, more a case of “forgetting” about it for a while (like many of you I have other stuff playing too) and then “remembering” it’s still there. Which really is the process of meditation, after all.
