@ Candy: it looks to me like this is on the banks of one of the big Dutch rivers. Cows usually graze in the floodplains in the summer months.

@Candy that's some river in The Netherlands during one of the longest heatwaves in Dutch history, in 1976. I remember my mother saying: be grateful you live in a house at a big pond. Think of all those poor children living in a flat in a city!
