Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from August 6, 2021 Favoriting

Uncle Michael's avatar View Uncle Michael's profile Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Fox: Jimi made a tape of a fairly early Joni Mitchell show - the tape got stolen / lost - & has recently resurfaced sounding amazing.

Ah ha! So one day I was talking to DJ ARB (who is a Jew) and I offhandedly said how I seem to get on well with the Jews on WFMU, and she said like who? Little Danny and Uncle Michael come to mind I said. She expressed surprise and said Uncle Michael is a Jew? For Christs sake I thought - Newman!? But really, I had no idea. But alas I was right. Apparently she didn't know about the Mexican/Jew axis. Although her boyfriend is one....go figure.

I went to the Kingdom in the 80s, a day game with few people there. My boyfriend was saying something critical about one of the players and people way down in the expensive seats turned around and glared at him - weird acoustics. Someone was sitting way up at the top with a sign that said 'Spike Owens Fan Club".

Changed my pedals, took off the clipless pedals, got some wide, flat pedals with spikes for traction. Not as much power uphill, but more than a flat pedal, and no trouble getting out of them quickly.
