play trip was less then I'm paying for this hotel room for the time I was there. I have a friend who builds soundsystems, and since all of the neighbors were there, we blasted the subs when we went full club dance w/ four PAs late at night. It was therapeutic, just play music again.

@Jeff: I found a 30s piano harp behind some wood in the barn, miced it, and had the percusionnist run his own fx through it, while I played some dessicated sunflower stalks as mallets, and my band member payed ambient bleeps and blops (oh, I also played the piano harp w/ a knife), I rocked that.

The reason steel drums started in Trinidad, is b/c there was a US base there in WWII, and when they left after the war was over, they left thousands of steel oil drums behind. The Trinis, being innovative as they were, made them into steel drums.
