I heard cats pounce/hunt instinctively, but have to be taught by their mother how to actually kill (a mouse, for example). So depending on where they were brought up, some will and some won’t know how kill the mouse

@Pablexa™ :D :D
you are all welcome! (that would be so lovely, wouldn't it?)
I was actually using that qualifier because of this context, I see talk of such yummy elaborate meals mentioned in the chat boards, I did not want to falsely sound as advanced in my food habits as those guys :D
no but seriously, as much as eating is one of the most basic things, it can be a whole issue. depends on one's situation, for years sometime. So just to cheer you on : took me time to have this as a routine, and the internet is overflowing with people who can get you to cook literally a.ny.thing . and the secret to crêpes is just the good pan !

Avatar 8:39am Avrilinmay:

@ Pablexa™: going to say Crepe without googling English pancakes(just going to assume they're the pancakes I know as American/Canadian). crepes as in the french (or belgian if you prefer) ones. they are also at risk to fall to the floor when you flip them (which is why I stopped flexing like Chefs on tv™️ and just do it quietly with my ustensils , 1mm close to the pan :D :D )

update: something did burn :D can't help it, you people are sooo attachants, my eyes leave the chat board kicking and screaming

and so, sorry about the garage @lanky. and hope this fire is being extinguished
Avatar 8:42am Ivan from Woodbridge:

@Avril I know a Belgian guy who’s always pointing out things to me that people think are French but are actually Belgian. (French fries and Jacques Brel)
  8:43am upstatesean:

Are you familiar with Ali’s views on racial issues?
  8:43am Tom from Stirling:

The Sagan Starship Trooper sound was too short.

@Carol, I don’t know how you do it, but week after week your show has me searching for adequate superlatives to describe it. Thank you!

Check out the Dick Cavitt interviews with Ali. He let Ali speak honestly, and powerfully, of course, as he always did

No one in my house (including dog) is awake yet. It was nice to sit under overcast skies, listening to the show and reading the Sunday paper
Avatar 8:53am TDK60:

Thanks for the spins, Carol.
Avatar 8:53am Avrilinmay:

Jacques Brel .... <sigh>
I almost retorted, as a reflex: Jacques Brel *IS* belge! :D
but actually I heard him slag off being from there so often I don't think he cared much for neither ! (I empathize with that guy's point though, I have always thought of him as French my whole childhood, only to understand later he *technically* was not)

Also that thing about people liking to reclaim them successful artists (once they make it) etc.
  8:53am Tom from Stirling:

Oh my, Lee Ranaldo! Merci beaucoup! This!
  8:54am upstatesean:

This show is like a three-hour culture workout.
Refreshing, and exhausting! 😁
