I suffer from regular back issues too. FWIW, I find exercise the most effective preventative, as opposed to stretching, which offers some relief when things get bad.

Heat, painkillers, light stretching...if you’re anything like me you woke up one day and realized you were Much Older Than Before and that things like stretching and whatever body management routines work for you are now like food. Gotta have them every day. (I don’t, I’m still stuck in the know-I-should stage...) A heating pad, even on a hot day, is always the most immediate source of relief for me (even as I case my friendbase for anyone with leftover vicodin etc.).

I agree, I have to keep moving and doing stuff. I fractured my L5 when I was 12. It's never been right since. Does it feel muscular, or skeletal? I've tried accupuncture which does work for a while. If I'm really bad, I go see my chiropractor. Feel better Joe McG!

My back will go out once every year or two. Usually after lying in bed for two or three days (depression) then my muscles lose tightness....then afterward the unexpected back trauma. I have started to keep an old-folks walker around just in case.

Joe, several internet sources say about DH: dedicated to Dirk Hugsam, an independent tour agent affiliated with Constellation Records who had become a close friend to many of the bands on the roster; he died peacefully in December 2018 after a long illness.

Hey Joe , Its a Korean Harp, a Gauguin. Played by Luna Lee on YouTube. She covers rock tunes, w a rock feel to her playing. Voodoo Chile is a standout as are many including a ZZ Top boogie. She can bend strings so her Blues covers are excellent as well.

Oh, it's getting late. OK I never posted this before, but some might find helpful "The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook Book" by Clair Davies (there are also tons of various YT videos online.) Sometimes clearing up the trigger points in the chest, which develop because we've all been hunched over our computers, it helps the lower back to get back into place. You don't need a second human for the chest pokes. . . .Thank you Joe for an interesting morning! Feel better!
