Cedric Burnside? R.L.'s nephew? Or is it grandson?
Avatar 6:19am TDK60:

Morning DJ Pidge.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19am JeremyB:

Burnside was born in Memphis, Tennessee, United States,[4] to Calvin Jackson and Linda Burnside,[10] and raised in Holly Springs, Mississippi,[11] in the house of his grandfather, R. L. Burnside, and the extended family. By the age of 13, he began to tour with his grandfather's band, as a drummer.[11] He had overlapped his father's time in the band, and would eventually replace him on the drums.

  6:26am The Butterman:

So I had jury duty yesterday. Supposed to be 2 days, finished in one. Wasn’t expecting to have to be in work today. Now I have no lesson plans for my 3 hour long classes on the last day I’ll ever see many of these kids forever. What do I do? Busy work? No. Yet another frickin’ video? Absolutely not. I will have to whip out my…early 1960’s, open-back, folk model, old-timey, torture device. AKA banjo. That’ll shut em up. Hope they can take my unique brand of claw hammer style banjo breakdowns, lots of hootin’ and more that a touch of hollerin’.

We didn't get a color TV until the 70's.
  7:03am Gerry from Miami:

Those Smothers Brothers were sneaky subversive during their time on the tube. The network had their hands full keeping them "under control." I especially remember when CBS edited out Joan Baez introducing and dedicating a song to her then-husband David, who was in prison for refusing to be drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War.

Smothers Brothers
The Who incident[edit]
The performance by The Who in 1967 was another defining moment in the series; as the group often did during that period, The Who destroyed their instruments at the conclusion of their performance of "My Generation", with the usual addition of mild explosives for light pyrotechnic effect. The piece would end with guitarist Pete Townshend grabbing Tommy's guitar and smashing it. On the Smothers Brothers show that night a small amount of explosive was put into the small cannon that Keith Moon kept in his bass drum. But it did not go off during the rehearsal. Unbeknownst to Moon, a stage hand had added another explosive before the taping, and later Moon added another charge so that now there were three explosive charges in the cannon instead of one.[12] When Moon detonated it, the explosion was so intense that a piece of cymbal shrapnel cut into Moon's arm; Moon is heard moaning in pain toward the end of the piece. Townshend, who had been in front of Moon's drums at the time, had his hair singed by the blast; he is seen putting out sparks in his hair before finishing the sketch with a visibly shocked Tommy Smothers. The blast allegedly contributed heavily to Townshend's long-term hearing loss.[13]

Our neighbors got a color RCA TV when they were first available. VERY expensive as I recall, and almost as big as a refrigerator. They would invite us over to watch the very limited color programming on NBC. Excerpt from Sharon Lebell

“Mistreatment Comes from False Impressions”
If people treat you disrespectfully or speak unkindly about you, remember that they do so from their impression that it is right to do so. It is unrealistic to expect people to see you as you see yourself. If people reach conclusions based on false impressions, they are the ones hurt rather than you, because it is they who are misguided.

When someone interprets a true proposition as a false one, the proposition itself isn’t hurt; only the person who holds the wrong view is deceived, and thus damaged. Once you clearly understand this, you will be less likely to feel affronted by others, even if they revile you. You can say to yourself, “It seemed so to that person, but that is only his impression.”

Happiness is won through clear thinking! Many paths to the same tree.

“How do I live a happy, fulfilling life? How can I be a good person? Answering these two questions was the single-minded passion of Epictetus, the great Stoic philosopher. Although his works are less well-known today, due to the decline of classical education, they have had enormous influence on leading thinkers on the art of living for almost two millennia.”

Jack LaLanne would surely lament today's fixation on staring at their phones. I wonder what he'd say about people on stationary bikes in their houses.
  8:28am Jamie:

if all the persistently negative people would leave this chat it'd be so much better. there's literally nothing wrong with having a positive outlook in life so don't shame others for having one. why do you even listen to clay when he spreads joy and happiness if you don't like that attitude? just enjoy the music! if you have nothing nice to say .. say nothing.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33am Krys O.:

@Listener Robert: Null has many issues like grifting and touting unsafe products. The grift drive probably makes him unhappy. LOL!
  8:33am Maryanne:

A short distance after the bridge, the route comes to a northbound toll plaza, where it becomes a two-lane divided highway. US 206 officially ends at an intersection with US 209 not far after the toll plaza for the bridge. Even though this intersection marks the end of US 206, a few signs show the route heading concurrent with US 209 to continue north to US 6 in Milford." Footnotes elided.
