Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm ultradamno:

Saw yesterday Allison Mack is really working to get a break on her sentence now.
  6:03pm Listener Robert:

She should do endorsements for a certain brand of anti-peptic-ulcer drug.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:03pm loveless:

I'm scared, this sounds like the soundtrack to a horror movie. Hell-o all.
  6:05pm Listener Robert:

During the Gough and Millar years of "Smallville", I always thought the DC comics characters should've been gradually eased off the stage and the show focused on Ms. Mack's character.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm ultradamno:

This is the most seamless transition from Spin Age Blasters yet, which is saying something.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm tim from washington:

I dug that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm Doug in JC:

ultradamno is that a ... compliment?
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 6:08pm Baja Joe:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm dale:

  6:10pm ron-ji:

Hello, all. I am alarmed by how much I like this shortcake.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm dale:

isn't hopsalot and sourgrapes gonna get a mention?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm ultradamno:

@Doug It was one of the most enjoyable tunes played on this show.

I'm getting more Beat Happening off this than VU
Avatar 6:11pm Fox:

I was gonna make a joke about it being a "very special episode" like Facts of Life where it had a creepy molester or something, but then I realized it's the CoLDS, so yeah, probably, huh?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm melinda:

this is fun
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 6:15pm DjLorraine:

Last weeks show included songs from The Farm. I had a friend that lived there. He just recently moved to Rockland county.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm ultradamno:

We've gone from Mouldy Peaches to Bjork remix album to mock Elvis. This cult is covering a lot of bases.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm dale:

jan brady as a teenage prostitute?
  6:17pm ron-ji:

What we’ve heard so far reminds me of the Tooth & Nail label of the 90s, in that every conceivable secular genre (in T&N’s case, shoegaze, death metal, punk) could be Christianized.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm tim from washington:

@Fox - hahaha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm dale:

i wish more christians would stop making christian music.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm micah:

Rhett
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33pm tim from washington:

Thanks, Micah!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm brainiac:

My doorbell rang at the top of the show...
When I answered there was no one there, but when I came back to the computer the show was half over.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:36pm tim from washington:

I just followed the link to Nuclear Gopher. How did Rhett pass?
  6:37pm Glistener MW:

Does the streaming version of the album still exist online? I love 1990s web A/V aesthetic and would love to hear it in that low quality!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37pm micah:

he had a leg wound that went septic, or something to that effect
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37pm dale:

sounds like the republican party.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38pm micah:

probably not MW but maybe ryan has a backup version
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40pm (Murakami Whywolf))):

I think it was in 1997 WFMU was streaming with TrueSpeech encoding. Then came RealAudio (1999?), then MPEG Level 3 (2004?), then AAC (2018?).
  6:41pm Sam:

The only difference between them and the mafia is they don’t actually literally kill you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm brainiac:

Getting disfellowshipped is taking Minnesota nice to the extreme.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm tim from washington:

Man, how sad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43pm (((Murakami Whywolf):

That doorbell was, of course, rung by the Phantom Witnesses who didn't want you to listen to this hour. Savour your partial victory now, and then full via the archive.

I neglected to add there was a tingling in my buttocks. 👀
  6:45pm Listener Robert:

Ironically is the way to read "1984".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:45pm ultradamno:

My nephew told me once that during the brief period he could live with his mother after her becoming a witness that she and her husband would polish off a gallon of vodka a night.

The funniest thing of which I can think to say about that is 'That was I.' but it wasn't. It was probably the Ghostly Adventists.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50pm ultradamno:

I hadn't heard that, but I remember a long time ago evangelists claiming the smurfs, having blue skin and black lips, were corpses that promoted necrophilia
  6:50pm Sam:

Ha, even the smurf was like these guys are nuts
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50pm melinda:

this is the best rumor
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51pm brainiac:

I honestly think I heard that Smurf story somewhere when I was a kid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51pm dale:

swearing up a blue streak.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51pm tim from washington:

Screw the Smurfs! They stole their theme song melody from J Geils Band's "Angel In A Centerfold"
  6:52pm Sam:

But the muppets are perfectly holy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm melinda:

@tim haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm (Murakami Whywolf))):

I read that evangelicals (who, incidentally, hate J.W.) were spreading the rumour that Smurfs were gay men who'd drowned themselves. I can neither consmurf or smurnye this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm tim from washington:

Thanks Micah. That was super cool. Ryan and Scott seem like really thoughtful awesome people.
  6:54pm Sam:

The teletubbies are another evil bunch that turn kids gay
  6:54pm ?:

Rad music, to be sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55pm melinda:

I like this
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55pm ultradamno:

Drowned themselves, geez evangelicals, autoerotic asphyxiation is RIGHT THERE!
  6:55pm queems:

i’m really into this song

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm (((Murakami Whywolf):

tim from washington:
I heard a recording supposed to be from the 1950s (from a fanatickal home recordist whose family rented a room to an old Chasid) of a Chasidic niggun (wordless melody) that is _exactly_ the opening of {the "Banana Splits" theme}/"Buffalo Soldier".
  6:57pm Old Dave:

Perfect Cure copy band, but irritating in a way
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm tim from washington:

Hahaha - Murakami.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm brainiac:

Thank Micah! Cool show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm tim from washington:

Thanks again, Micah!
Swag For Life Member 6:58pm Zetti:

Thanks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm (Murakami Whywolf))):

Wait, no, I've misremembered it, probably because of the 'Hoy yoy yoys'. What I _did_ hear was a niggun very obviously based on "Miserlou", which is not suprising because it was an incredibly popular song from around 1920 onward with Jews in Roumania, Bulgaria, Turkey…as well as with Turks, Armenians, Arabic-speakers….
