I saw The Woodentops in 84, supporting Julian Cope, on the night he tried to kill himself (sort of) on stage. When they carted him off on a stretcher, they had to play a few more numbers. That was one tough gig to do, but they were brilliant.

David - yeah ... in NYC for 3 full weeks so super happy ... missing my wee Simon in Madrid but I read him books every night ... back to Madrid 16th but here again 24th for 3 weeks so a ok --- except all the pollution I cause?????? Cannot not not do so... Need my wee one and cannot be alone in Madrid for 3 weeks when I have so much here: neighbors, friends, community garden .... I will be in London post-covid so we meet in the Stoke Newington Cemetery for some cans or bottles.... When we got the boot from Jenner Rd .. we moved into/squatted a 1/2 burned down house on Bouverie Rd --- broke through the back wall and had the cemetery as our backyard...

I couldn't wait to get a Guiness on my first trip to Ireland. We arrived in Dublin early on Sunday which is VERY quiet there. Crashed until about 1 and went looking for lunch and pints. We went into the first pub we found and it happened to be a rare American style brew pub with an enthusiastic bartender but no Guiness :(
