I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

About now, my cat would blast out a surprise, close-range, sneeze.

That probably wouldn’t even be the weirdest thing anybody’s seen on the Pulaski Skyway.

Hello Bryce and marbles
I half remember a track with purring cats, I think it was called Labyrinth, but I'm not sure. Does that ring any bell?

  12:41pm Squid:

Is this the Mode Records recording of Mikrophonie I?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm tim from champaign (now washington):

I used to have the Gravikords... disc and its companion. I wish I still had those.
  12:45pm headcleaner:

I still gots my Gravikords (book + CD) - and am still wrapping my head around them. Have also lost many once proudly-owned rekkuds in my time, tho
  12:45pm Squid:

I saw an eye doctor yesterday for the first time. We got to talking music. He told me the husband of the woman who sold him his house is a musical instrument inventor who invented something called a gravikord. I told him I know his work. He said he's going to connect us together.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm Krys O.:

Amazing, Squid!
Avatar 12:48pm Bryce:

@squid - its from a double CD put out by Stockhausen Verlag. they're sort of the official stockhausen foundation. they have dozens of high quality recordings of all his pieces, and they're all full-length. but.....institutionally priced, if i recall.

fortunately, they were kind enough to send fmu a bunch of them a ways back!
Avatar 12:49pm Bryce:

@brenna - yayyyy, that's what i was hoping for!!
Avatar 12:49pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Karlheinz Stockhausen (German: [kaʁlˈhaɪnts ˈʃtɔkhaʊzn̩]; 22 August 1928 – 5 December 2007)
- more than long enuff to ponder himself being prominent on the cover of that Beatles thing...
  12:50pm Squid:

Interesting Bryce, I have another Stockhausen Verlag disk with Mikrophonie I and II and Telemusik along with other pieces. This is a totally different version I've never heard before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm Krys O.:

Somehow the purring sounds made me think of the Cremaster Cycle. The filing system in my brain is wacky, fer sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm tim from champaign (now washington):

Take care of the coconut, rita! Bryce plus an industrial sized bloody mary should fix everything.
  12:52pm Squid:

Oops, sorry. This is the same disk I have.
  12:53pm Squid:

I have a surround sound DVD of this piece. An amazing performance though I've yet to hear it in surround.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm tim from champaign (now washington):

@Krys - One of my goals in life is seeing the Crenaster Cycle on the big screen, I guess at this point I'd be happy seeing all 5 on any sized screen really,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm rita popova:

thanks tim!! bloody mary is brilliant advice, that + a cold shower... we're in business
Avatar 12:54pm Bryce:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm Krys O.:

@tim from champaign: I seem to recall that it was on public television really late at night years ago. I surely didn't dream it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm fred:

I once said to someone who worked with Stockhausen that it was great he had such detailed notes about the electronics in his scores. He chuckled had said those were made before rehearsals, and the changes he made were not included. Good luck doing those earlier piece again
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm Krys O.:

That's a lovely film there. Thanks, Bryce.

BTW-Some folks use the phrase 'like herding cats' to describe something difficult when all they really need to do is shake a bag or box of kibble or a package of treats to herd the felines.
Avatar 1:01pm βrian:

Right. I mean, why would anyone *want* to herd cats? All you have to do is invite them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm fred:

@tim: I once spent New Year's day in an exhibition about the Cremaster cycle, with plenty of stuff from the cycle, and I watched all five movies there that day. Even got a big book there. I guess Cremaster 3 is my fave, but it does feature Guinness, so I'm biased

1940'2 78 player has "external speaker" hookup of only 2 screws #1 and #2

Or can two speakers be hooked up at the same time?

so is #1 black or red?
