Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm Handy Haversack:

Yes, the newspapers were right: rain was general all over the WFMU listening area. It was falling softly upon the Great Swamp and, further eastwards, softly falling into the dark mutinous Hudson waves. It was falling too upon every part of the lonely parking lot where SM Ken once parked. It lay thickly dripping on the faded lines and curbstones, on the meters of the little street, on the neon window. His soul swooned slowly as he heard the rain falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling, like the descent of their last end, upon all the living and the dead.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Steve from Dunwoody:

I loved "Twin Peaks: The Return" but I'm not sure if or when I'll revisit it. Definitely a patience-challenger.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm HyperDose:

Lots of Twin Peaks talk lately. I should google what that is, then watch it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm tim from champaign (now washington):

@Little Danny - I'm hoping for a Dougie spin-off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm paddy in matawan:

Hey. I forgot to eat lunch. I should feed the cat. It's raining. I want to go ride my bike, but I don't want to get wet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm tim from champaign (now washington):

@HyperDose - I'd recommend watching it first, then look it up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm Handy Haversack:

Skip the Google, HyperDose. Just watch!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm Handy Haversack:

I hear you, McGroovey. We're low on vodka AND soda, but I have a cat on my hip and a dog between my knees, and motivation levels are low ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm The Oscar:

@LD I rewatched the Return a few months ago, and I think I actually liked it even more the second time through. I think knowing the full picture helps a lot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Passaic River Blues:

Oh nice! Monica tonight!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm tim from champaign (now washington):

I got the Twin Peaks Z To A box set a few months ago. I'm looking forward to to right moment to tackle the whole deal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm McGroovey:

I actually had to dump a cat off my lap to get up and turn on WFMU.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Little Danny:

I can appreciate that, the Oscar. Even before the concluding episode, I was inhaling every bit of analysis I could find on the new installment/s. Probably would benefit me to actually apply my cobbled-together "perspective" with a re-watch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm McGroovey:

Hyperdose doesn't know twin peaks? Hyperdose must be young. That sounds condescending, but I don't actually mean it to sound or to be condescending.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm tim from champaign (now washington):

These Jazzfakers are pretty convincing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm Little Danny:

For years it was somewhat difficult to find the original two seasons of Twin Peaks.
  3:56pm Polyus:

I can’t spot the fake jazz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm McGroovey:

Oh, and my teenage kids discovered Twin Peaks on their own and watched it on their own and then made us rewatch it with them. I hadn't seen the original since it was first on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Handy Haversack:

If only John Allen were here to help!

I'm looking forward to watching TPtR again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm The Oscar:

I got into TP as a teen via reruns in the late '90s, and used to drag my home-taped episodes to friends' houses and make them watch it. It's been really interesting watching it spread among people my age and younger as it's been released on DVD and streaming-- at the time, NO ONE I knew had ever heard of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Scott and presence. I was thinking of reverting a different avatar, but maybe I'll keep Bonesy for a little longer. #skeletonpower

Swag For Life Member 4:05pm Bruce S.:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Haha ... thanks, Bruce. I picked him up on Halloween one year during Dave Hill's show and set him loose last spring.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm tim from champaign (now washington):

@Marco - Do it! Their output is a little daunting in scope so dive in anywhere. I've seen them live twice and both were top notch experiences.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm Phillippe:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26pm Little Danny:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm Handy Haversack:

ChukAmok, it took us *years* to figure out how accessible from Brooklyn JC actually is. We are ... not that bright. We just heard "New Jersey" and assumed it was a full-day endeavor to get there. Again, we are not bright. Glad to have figured it out at last.

Little Danny, Kate is expressing extreme dubiety. But that puts ears in the seats! Or butts on the radio! Or something!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34pm ChukAmok:

That makes sense. When I lived in NYC the only times I would go to NJ were for shows at Maxwell's, and that was a hike from the PATH.
FMU really is right there across the river, though.
Now that I live in South Carolina and get back to NYC as much as possible it doesn't really feel that far away. Two hour flight; no sweat.

How are people feeling about this new Jane Weaver album? I loved the last two. Struggling to get into the whole of this one (some lovely moments, undoubtedly).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36pm Handy Haversack:

Whoa, that is MUCH farther than coming from Brooklyn, ChukAmok!

Definitely looking to pick up this Jane Weaver album on Friday. Kate keeps telling me to clicky-star it, and I keep telling her I already have, and she asks why we don't have it already, and I point out that Friday is Bandcamp Friday. It's a whole thing. A whole thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm Scott Williams:

This has been fandamntabulous as always, Scott! Thanks so much. And great to see you the other day -- and see you soon!

I might need another folding demonstration. Kate's right. I just am not good at it. If only I had skills in other areas that could make up for this particular shameful showing. But here we are.
