Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Julie:

I want a whole Donald Glover Lando movie
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm spodiodi:

if i had to choose between that and a Billy Dee movie, i'm afraid (sorry, Donald -- i love your lando, but Billy Dee!!!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm Julie:

I'd enjoy that too but I was thinking about another prequel
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm spodiodi:

... afraid i'd choose the Billy Dee version
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm chris in the redwoods:

cheers, David, Handy, and spodi. i'd watch that, Julie!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Phillippe:

hey spodi, handy, David, Chris, ken, et al
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm xtrakrispy:

So this is where all the cool kids are...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Handy Haversack:

Billy Dee forever.

Never saw the Solo movie. I found the new SW movies so disjointed and insulting to my narrative sense that I bailed entirely a few movies back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm chris in the redwoods:

hiya, Cha Cha, Ken, and Phillippe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Julie:

I hope so xtra! We're a small but lively group.. welcome!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm Julie:

The only thing I remember about Solo was Glover. Rogue One movie was fun though, love Felicity Jones
  3:17pm Andres:

Good afternoon, Julie and humanoids!
“If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will...”
Also, Billy Dee Williams +1.
Lastly, sounding great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm Julie:

Hiya Andres! Thank you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm spodiodi:

handy, if for no other reason, you need to watch it for the L3-37 (holy crap i love her) played by the Fleabag actress www.indiewire.com... (so funny)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm David (in London):

Handy, that's a charitable assessment in my book. They made me want to gouge my own eyes out. (Rogue One excepted, Julie). And hey, why not take an actor of the stature of Max von Sydow and use him for about three minutes? Grrrr.

Cha Cha, xtrakrispy, salutations!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm David (in London):

Hurrah! Daevid Allen arrives to make the world instantly better!
Avatar 3:20pm Bas NL:

Hi Julie! Hi crew!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm Julie:

I had no idea that was her! I didn't watch Fleabag till later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm Julie:

hiya Bas! Just discovering Daevid this reminds me of Kevin Ayers
  3:21pm Andres:

I think Rogue One is in the top three SW movies. I’ve upset a few people saying that. I stand by it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm spodiodi:

and K-2SO makes Rogue One more than worth watching as well (imho)
Avatar 3:21pm Bas NL:

Nice track!
Avatar 3:22pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000:

Every now and then I have a Vinyl Warm-Up Hour, so a few hours before this show, with me playing vinyls from my personal collection by artists played here. Turns out I broke the rules today by playing The Associates!
But, you can always make good my mistake by playing them someday Julie ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm spodiodi:

aloha, xtracrispy, Andres and Bas!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm Julie:

I will hunt them down, thanks Cha Cha!
Avatar 3:23pm Bas NL:

Hi spodi!
Avatar 3:23pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000:

Boohoo, never saw Gong while Daevid Allen was still alive but I did manage to catch University of Errors on a ship moored in Bremen (namely M/S Treue), ummm 2010?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm Handy Haversack:

Bas, xtrakrispy, Cha Cha, Andres: hello!
  3:25pm Andres:

Hey, spodiodi! Yes, K-2SO among the great characters.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm Julie:

a concert on a ship that sounds so fun
Avatar 3:26pm Bas NL:

Hi Handy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm chris in the redwoods:

haha, movies v books time for a sec. my last experience was with the movie Savages. after reading the Don Winslow novel and hearing he would be involved with the making of the movie, i was stoked. went to see it as soon as it came out. became increasingly incensed that the characters were not portrayed well. and near the end of the movie, in the denement of the bloody story, they just went a completely different direction. i actually exclaimed loudly, "you've got to be fucking kidding me."... time passes, the movie is released to streaming. i decide to watch it *again* just to make sure. this is how good the book is. what a great story. same thing happens. long story, short... i try not to watch movies of books i love.
  3:26pm Andres:

Hey, Handy! Currently pondering a walk with my Darth Vader mask.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm Julie:

I think it's rare I see the movie after, it's usually the other way around.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm Julie:

I tried to read the Game of Thrones books but barely made it through the first
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm David (in London):

A friend of mine told me about the guy who promoted Daevid Allen in the UK years ago taking him to a rave in Liverpool in the early 1990s to give him a flavour of the 'modern psychedelic culture'. It was packed, and when he turned his back to talk to someone, he looked back and Allen was gone. Then he noticed the entire club turning to face the same direction, and Allen had clambered up on top of this podium thing and was 'conducting' the whole club, hundreds of MDMA-enhanced ravers. They didn't know who he was, but they recognised a psychedelic leader when they saw one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm Handy Haversack:

I'm glad you bailed that early, Julie! I think I read three before I finally asked myself what the hell was wrong with me. I wish I'd bailed on the show after three years, too, once it came along.
Avatar 3:30pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000:

@3:23 Julie: you might like them! Very theathrical stuff (Klaus Nomi & Sparks come to mind), that Associates' 1982 album 'Sulk' which I have. A very odd (ignoring the original chord changes quite a bit) of 'Gloomy Sunday'. Didn't remember one-time Cure bass player Michael Dempsey is on that album, and did not know John Murphy is there too (his CV was/is a bit of a who's who of "certain type of music" SPK, Whitehouse, Death In June etc.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:30pm chris in the redwoods:

that's the smart move, i think, Julie. and yeah, i couldn't get into GoT book 1, either.
great story, David. wowza.
Avatar 3:31pm Bas NL:

I used to visit concerts on the MS Stubnitz while moored in Amsterdam harbor. Fantastic place. And old East-German fishery vessel with a stage in the freezer. (That was basically everything below deck). Great 'dead' acoustics as no walls were straight.
Seen there: Rapoon, Circle, Faust.. many more.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm listener james from westwood:

I thought that first bird peep was my smoke alarm battery!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm B R M:

Late! Sorry! Hi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm chris in the redwoods:

ah man, Bas, what a venue!
Avatar 3:34pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000:

@3:31 Bas NL: I know it is quite a legendary venue, wherever it has been, sadly I was there only once, also in Bremen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Ken From Hyde Park:

That sounds pretty good, Bas, assuming it didn't reek of fish!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Julie:

wow that sounds fun Bas
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm spodiodi:

haven't read the GoT books, but have seen it all more than once (or twice). i thought it was a whole lot of fun (for multiple reasons.)

better half is more a fan than myself, and has read the books.

she's also infromed me recently of new GoT work that's happening now (prequel-type things. sawr a production still)

we got to see it's opening (US showing) of it's season premiere one year at the SF Opera House. also a lot of fun.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Julie:

Spodi Meghan & I went to a season premiere it Lincoln Center. They had a dragon where the fountain is. Pretty fun
Avatar 3:38pm Bas NL:

No fishy smell at all, luckily. Drowned out by smell of large bottles of strong East-German beer. When Faust was on stage Zappi Diermaier, the drummer, went nuts playing all the piping and steel of the ship. I'll never forget that night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm spodiodi:

cool, Julie!

Scientology goth?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Julie:

She's more punk but yeah afraid so
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Julie:

I wonder if I could do a whole set of scientologists... the only other one I can think of is Beck
Avatar 3:44pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000:

@3:38 Bas NL: The only time I saw Faust was in 2008 in London when they suddenly sawed an air conditioning pipe in half, so thanks to the sudden burst of ventilation there was metal dust everywhere. I mean, thank God they did not dismantle or burn down the M/S Stubnitz or something.
Avatar 3:45pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000:

@3:44 Julie: also Incredible String Band had a Scientology phase from 1969 onwards.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm Julie:

and apparently whoever famous blue raincoat was written about
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm Julie:

I would buy an album by someone called Metal Dust
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Handy Haversack:

We're sure "Famous Blue Raincoat" isn't about Beck?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm HyperDose:

There's a guy named Fred Durst who sings on a few albums. He's pretty mellow for a dude from Florida.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Julie:

hiya Hyper!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Rich in Bay Ridge:

L. Ron Hubbard was a Mellotron enthusiast, i believe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm Julie:

well he can't be ALL bad I guess
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm Stanley:

Hi Julie
Photo2000: some friends of mine were caught up with that ISB Scientology business back then. They got out a few years later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm Rich in Washington:

Fred Durst wrote and directed a terrible movie called The Fanatic and it's got John Travolta's best/worst performance.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm spodiodi:

was reading about that, Rich. too much
Avatar 3:49pm Bas NL:

@PCC2000: Ha! Would have loved to have been there! :) The Stubnitz is no longer allowed in Amsterdam.. fire hazard! One is pretty much tinned up in the hold, with a single staircase through a top cover. I thought it just made for a very intimate feel. (Like sardines in a can..)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Rich in Bay Ridge:

www.planetmellotron.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Julie:

hiya Stanley! my old BF worked around them for years, would not give into their appeals to "join" and eventually left
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm David (in London):

When I saw Faust in the mid 1990s, they started the gig in complete darkness, before turning on some massive air-blowing fans and emptying bags of wet leaves in front of them, turning the place into a maelstrom of madness. I got a massive wet horse-chestnut leaf in the face and it was like being attacked by the face-hugger in Alien. By the time the lights came up, the audience were in absolute disarray.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm HyperDose:

Hey Julie!
@Rich Must have been after he directed that Puddle of Mudd video at that dive bar and thought he was Scorsese
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Julie:

I hear so much about Faust, which album do I need to check out?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm spodiodi:

i recently read an interview with Beck where he clarified the whole scientology thing (he's not one)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Julie:

in my brain, they are a Fabio band
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm Julie:

good to know, spodi
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm Stanley:

Julie - dive into with The Faust Tapes. Did it for me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm Rich in Washington:

The lowest point of The Fanatic is when the main antagonist of the film says to another character - while turning on his car radio "Limp Bizkit! I LOVE these guys!" and we have to hear a bunch of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Julie:

two sides with no title?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm spodiodi:

www.smh.com.au... i was relieved (i've been a fan, but never liked that (i thought) he was one of Them)
Avatar 3:52pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000:

@3:50 Julie: what Stanley said - if it still was the 1970s, Faust Tapes would be a cheap option, costing you all of £0.49. Plus it is a good collage of their madness and music.
Avatar 3:53pm Bas NL:

Yeah, they are psychedelic/experimental. Very much Fabio's taste i think. Faust So Far and indeed The Faust Tapes..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm Julie:

yeah So Far is where I'm leaning, it's got titles LOL
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Stanley:

Haha - yep!
  3:54pm Andres:

“Misleading Colors”. So, colour blind?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Rich in Bay Ridge:

Faust played Monty in 2016? Anybody go to that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm David (in London):

Bas, yeah, I'd probably recommend So Far as the place to start, too. But all Faust is good Faust.

Julie, "Did You Know That Wasn't Me?"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm Handy Haversack:

OK, I *know* this song is mentioned in Strange Stars!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm Julie:

sorry, no K-2SO I doubt I'd have played Brandi anyway even if Elton does love her
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19pm Julie:

this is on a coldwave comp I have, how weird is that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19pm K-2SO:

ngh, a couple of weeks back, i was checking to see if Elmer's glue was "still made" with animal parts, whne i was confronted with "Elmer's does not currently use animals or animal parts to make glue. Its glue adhesive products are made from synthetic materials and are not derived from processing horses, cows, or any other animals, or milk." from it's wikipedia entry
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20pm Julie:

no hooves huh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20pm Julie:

vegan glue, drink or sniff away!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20pm K-2SO:

nope. not so for Jello, still, "sadly"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm K-2SO:

mucilage <-- yech
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm Julie:

wow that is surprising still hooves in jello
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm Tome:

Love it !<>! !<>! PeW !<>! PeW !<>!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:25pm K-2SO:

yes Julie, there exists vegan marshmallows (traditionally also made using gelatin)... i wonder why whatever they've used to achieve the marshmallows hasn't been used to create animal-free Jello

more silly Star Wars music ! :) (where do you find some of this stuff?)
  6:25pm headcleaner:

silly yes, but how fun and bouncy tech-oriented music used to be back then (as technology itself was viewed, by and large) - today, not so much

Avatar 6:25pm northguineahills:

@K-250: So I can still keep sniffing glue? (not a vegan).

yes, ngh. ii'll allow it. and recommend using Testors

the stuff they have now much of it they had some 35 40years ago, when you only have "8Bits" to work with still amazin what you can do it need be !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27pm K-2SO:

hi Cannibal! (do you ever let him listen to ARB's show?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm listener james from westwood:

Avatar 6:28pm northguineahills:

I once let my partner eat a dish w/ a meat product at a restaurant (not apparent), b/c I was tired and just wanted to go home, and didn't want her to reorder.. I'm a horrible person.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm Julie:

awww
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm Rich in Bay Ridge:

My first job out of college was at a sugar company, and I was surprised that cattle "bone char" was one of the biggest expenses in refining white sugar. Many refineries modernized to a vegan-friendly process that does not involve cattle bones, but it's still commonly used.
Avatar 6:29pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...relieved not so StarWars specific: I'm down w/ SciFi !
ngh - I'll pretend I didn't read that...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm coelacanth∅:

so if you hear of a horse being sent to the glue factory, and it's Elmer's factory, you may rest assured it's going there for an animal compassion awareness meeting.
Avatar 6:30pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Rich - so Jell-o might get an animal two-fer there !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm Julie:

wow Rich, had no idea!
Avatar 6:31pm northguineahills:

@Rev Rabbit: I didn't realize it until she started eating it, and my brain was shot after working an 80 hour week, I was just happy to eat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm Rich in Bay Ridge:

I was working there when the Williamsburg refinery converted to non-char carbonatation....well, they ain't making sugar there anymore.
Avatar 6:32pm northguineahills:

(I knew the ingredients of the dish, even though she asked for a vegan option beforehand).
Avatar 6:33pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& some fish product used in processing Guinness ! I'm like AWW ! ...But I think they're trying to change...
ngh I recognize your human weakness there... It's kind of on the veggie / vegan ...Ideally there would be a big flashing sign : Veggie Soup ...with CHICKIN STOCK - but I'm afraid not...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm coelacanth∅:

yup - all the pretend vegans out there (which is just about all those who call themselves vegan) are consuming animal ingredients daily...along with all the other things they do that make them not vegan
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:36pm Julie:

what about my vegetarian friends who eat chicken? I have far too many of those. Just say you don't eat red meat, it's okay!
Avatar 6:36pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& - I love leather... not like I'm some major purchaser of it - I've got a lot of stuff from 2nd hand shops (I werked @ one long time) - but I wear it...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:36pm coelacanth∅:

soup with chicken stock is not vegetarian.
there's no grey area.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:36pm coelacanth∅:

Julie they are liars!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37pm K-2SO:

vegetarians do not eat animals or animal products, nor vegans.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37pm Julie:

I know that and you know that but someone needs to tell them that.
Avatar 6:38pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Chicken is not a vegetable. & they're raised most often *hideously*. Neither are the eggs & dairy I consume - but I'm explicit about that...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38pm K-2SO:

vegetarians don't eat vegans (ok, K-2SpO.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38pm HyperDose:

Jabba is a total slut! Glad someone finally said it. :p

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm chris in the redwoods:

goddamn i love this too much. Jabba you Slut!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm coelacanth∅:

i was a vegetarian before it was fashionable
(an actual vegetarian - commonly and incorrectly called "vegan" now) and lots of people would say "but you can still eat chicken though"!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40pm Julie:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41pm K-2SO:

you're most welcome, Julie, and "The Captain Says You're A Friend. I Will Not Kill You."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41pm HyperDose:

Pretty sure it defies the laws of the universe for Julie to have a bad show. You know how to make 'em fun and keep us coming back for more!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm Julie:

awww thank you, HyperDose means a lot
Avatar 6:42pm northguineahills:

She will eat honey, now (it's a far as she goes), but used to be a pescadorian when I first met her. There are veggie stocks available. (and boullion cubes that are veggie).

I was a veggie for years until grad school, and it was too expensive at Hunter in the Upper East Side. Now, I cook veggie, if an option, but I eat crappy stuff when broke (like now), or I eat meat when it's some dish I've never tried before.
Avatar 6:43pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I used to say 'less killing still filling' - but the vegans made sure the world knows how awful the egg & dairy industries are...
I gave up animals one by one some time ago now. First swine - then cows. I thot - chickens are healthy. Then they told about how they're raised - which is the absolute worst... Ate seafood a good while still - & they shamed me outta that. Started with cholesterol & additive concerns - my own health. Now I feel it's about humanitarianism & such - & was always about environmental impact. That matters...
Avatar 6:46pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...So I do think it's good to have as little impact as possible - but the fact is you literally can't wipe yer butt without impact. So self-righteousness about it is misplaced - not especially helpful... & to intelligently weigh your impact - involves being informed about the facts of it - indeed...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm Julie:

I was surprised to find that neither of the three leads ever recorded a song. Kinda surprising Carrie didn't. I didn't mine the xmas special, but I did check discogs and it's all voiceover
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm K-2SO:

hear, hear, RRN63. i have plenty to say about all of it (resisting for the obvious reasons), but yeah.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm coelacanth∅:

after 7 years of eating no animal flesh (3 of no animal ingredient) i started working a very small amount of fish into my diet for health reasons. i eat it maybe once/week now, and i rationalize it morally by remaining conscious of the fact the animals are not in a living hell their whole lives, awaiting to die, as mammals and birds are.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm Julie:

I am so glad you guys know how to use "hear hear" properly. Every time someone types Here Here, I say where? and no one gets the joke.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm Rich in Bay Ridge:

I admire anyone who has eliminated animal products from their diet or lifestyle, whatever the motivation. I am not there yet.
  6:49pm headcleaner:

It took a few decades for vegan products to catch up with animal-based (especially when it comes to baking - remember how bad vegan desserts used to be?) - but by now you can easily find stuff at par or better than the usual milk/butter substrate, if you know where to look
Avatar 6:50pm northguineahills:

If you ever driven past an industrial chicken "farm", you know how bad their conditions are. Same w/ industrial pork farms. Beef farms don't seem as bad (unless to go to the Plains), until you see the killing floors *cue Troy McClure, "don't worry Billy, it's more of grating then a floor"*)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50pm Julie:

Me either, Rich, certainly not after becoming very anemic.
Avatar 6:51pm northguineahills:

Meat products are cheaper then vegan ones. And where I'am at, I can maybe get a salad w/ a 5 km walk for $8.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm Julie:

yes, eating healthy is much costlier. Sucks.
Avatar 6:53pm northguineahills:

Then there's the issue of processed vegan foods are still processed foods.

Thanks, Julie!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54pm K-2SO:

hahaha the meowing was great XD
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54pm Rich in Bay Ridge:

Great show, as freaking always. Loved the bonus hour. See you tomorrow. Thanks Julie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54pm coelacanth∅:

my former housemate calls himself a vegan, despite me several times reminding him he is not! and he's a shithead in many ways but i'll give him this: he never gave anyone shit about eating animal products. he'd just say "well you do what you can do; as long as you're conscious of it"
Avatar 6:54pm TDK60:

Good night Julie and dark soulful nighters.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54pm chris in the redwoods:

eating with compassion is also very pricey. i am ridiculously privileged to be near farmers who raise food. and i can buy direct from them. but damn its costly and not sustainable for a large population. so, yeah, need to hop on the plant-based band-wagon. :)
Avatar 6:55pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& frankly when I was starving in the pandemic year I took charity - & was offered some remade meals w/ meat - & there they were, dead already - & I took them. I wasn't paying for people to do that - in fact the opposite ! & I wasn't gonna make a habit of it.
So - I was already hungry - but the rush of consuming meat was quite a thing! It's obviously the complete protein - but also blood iron & minerals & b-vitamins... But pretty quickly I got that 'clogged up' feeling that I'd like to avoid...
Cost is one reason I still eat eggs & dairy, I'd say. I'm not sure beans & rice cost more than beef & bacon - but I'll concede that somewhat...
ngh that's another thing: Just because it's not an animal doesn't make it the best thing to eat - simple enuff...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55pm Handy Haversack:

I truly wish this show and this hangout could go all night -- and not just because I have to go to yet ANOTHER meeting right now! Thanks so much, Julie.

Later on, friends!
Avatar 6:55pm northguineahills:

The nearest charity place is a good 35 km from where I'm at, and that's a bit of a hike for even me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm K-2SO:

...I think that what's convenient is the largest factor ! It's who wants to chop carrots all day every day - not that they cost so very much...
TY Always Julie !
  6:57pm headcleaner:

It costs more (nominally) to buy better food. But over time, I find I just have to eat right - and pay much more (in terms of lost time / disrupted sleep / feeling sub-par) as the price of not doing so
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57pm K-2SO:

Nerf Herder FTW!
Avatar 6:57pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000:

Thanks Julie - and hope to make it to tomorrow's fill-in (hopefully no tongue-biting pizza incident this time on my part)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm coelacanth∅:

well... i do think that, along with dairy products very likely being worse for your health than eating beef, it's probably a crueler industry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm Handy Haversack:

Now I feel dumb for not suggesting Selby Tigers.
Avatar 6:58pm northguineahills:

I love food prepping in my own kitchen, I listen to a podcast, and watch sports on mute. It's relaxing for me... (i miss it).
