Hi Space Brother Greg!
Avatar 5:01pm spacebrother:

Hey John!
  5:02pm chillroom:

Got a nice photo of Satchel Paige yesterday. Cheers.
  5:04pm chillroom:

Wings.
  5:04pm John R:

Wings?
  5:05pm Eric Kilkenny:

SPACEBROTHER!!!
Avatar 5:05pm spacebrother:

Hey Chill - Was it the one of him getting ready to pitch?
Avatar 5:05pm spacebrother:

@ John - Yes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05pm Scott67:

G'day Greg & Space to let!
✌😎🌏🚀
Avatar 5:05pm Otis:

Paving the path to my local Discovery Museum, Amen.
  5:05pm chillroom:

Nope. Sitting in front of his Packard.
  5:06pm Eric Kilkenny:

pulling music for my own show.. so totally not listening. hahah but I am here in the chat :)
Avatar 5:06pm spodiodi:

greetings, Spacebrother!
Avatar 5:07pm spacebrother:

Hey Scott67, Eric, Spodi, and Rev. O!
Avatar 5:08pm spodiodi:

i wish i knew this song my entire life
Avatar 5:08pm spodiodi:

lots of wasted years
Avatar 5:09pm spacebrother:

@ Eric - I do the same thing.
Avatar 5:09pm Otis:

I miss the 'Darwin Fish' I had on my Trans Am in the 90s whenever I hear Robin and Crystal Bernard.
Avatar 5:10pm spacebrother:

I also like this one because it's so L.A. -centric.
Avatar 5:11pm spacebrother:

@ Otis - I had one of those. I also have one somewhere that's a flying saucer that says "Alien" instead of Darwin.
Avatar 5:11pm Otis:

This Zappa album is really solid. Keep it on the shelf.
Avatar 5:11pm Otis:

Loved the 90s fish movement. Wonder if they are still on cars today, I hope so.
Avatar 5:12pm spacebrother:

I shall do another "California" themed show sometime and this will be on it.
  5:13pm John R:

Joe’s Garage is my favorite.
Avatar 5:13pm Otis:

SB, have you heard this version... blog.wfmu.org...
Avatar 5:13pm spacebrother:

@ Otis - There were so many variations. I've seen a Flying Spaghetti Monster, Cthulu, etc.
Avatar 5:14pm Mr Fab:

Beaming in, Spacebrother! I give my daughter Valley Girl lessons. Like, how to do the coordinated facial expressions and hand motions that go with Val speak. She IS a native Val after all.
Avatar 5:14pm spacebrother:

@ Otis - NO! Thank you !
Avatar 5:15pm spacebrother:

@ Fab - If all parents were like you, this world would be a much better place.
  5:16pm John R:

Lol!
Avatar 5:16pm spacebrother:

It's funny, I thought I'd heard all of the 365 tracks.
Avatar 5:18pm Otis:

I forget what's up there myself. Mass content, elapsed time, and memory going in the crapper.
Avatar 5:20pm spacebrother:

Yeah, i usually remember by association too. These days.
Avatar 5:26pm Otis:

Nice! Thanks SB!
Avatar 5:27pm spacebrother:

This is perfect!
Avatar 5:30pm Mr Fab:

Dokaka, the acapella guy! Forgot about him. He was big in the early internet. I think he did a King Crimson cover that I probly have on some corroding CD-R somewhere.
Avatar 5:31pm spacebrother:

@ Fab - Yeah - an epic version of "20th Century Schizoid Man," I think.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34pm Rich in Washington:

something that's bewildered me for years. I swear I heard an acapella version of The Units' High Pressure Days back in the 80s by some group who are NOT The Bobs. I cannot find out who did it.
Avatar 5:34pm Mr Fab:

pretty sure WFMU's own Irwin re-released "There's A New Sound" for Bob Mould's Singles Only Label (SOL) in the '90s.
Avatar 5:36pm spacebrother:

@ Rich - Sorry, I'm also drawing a blank.
Avatar 5:37pm spacebrother:

@ Fab - Yeah, I think it was b/w Leona Anderson's "Fish."
Avatar 5:44pm spacebrother:

I'm not sure if you can communicate through a telescope, Slim.

But who cares!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm Rich in Washington:

Love this song. There's also a suitably bonkers contemporaneous film shot for it.
Avatar 5:52pm spacebrother:

@ Rich - I'm currently obsessed with this album.
Avatar 5:52pm Otis:

The Witch pulled me back to chat from work.. working that magic.
Avatar 5:52pm spacebrother:

This is the album version, which I think I like better.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Rich in Washington:

It's always funny when bands claim they invented rock videos, when there are all kinds of instances of promo films made for bands that follow the format of modern rock videos going back to the 60s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Rich in Washington:

This is cool, spacebro! I don't think I've ever heard other songs by The Rattles.
Avatar 5:54pm spacebrother:

Psychedelic Goth Krautrock!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm Rich in Washington:

Yeah, I've only heard The Witch on some 70s Satanic hard rock comp I have. Noice!
Avatar 5:56pm spacebrother:

@ Rich - Yeah, there are so many great films for songs. And then there are the soundies from the 1940s-'50s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Rich in Washington:

right. And Scopitones.
Avatar 5:57pm Otis:

Soundies to Scopes. Still have 3 Something Weird VHS tapes from the 90s of Soundies. Love those. We had a working Scopitone machine here in Montreal (Atomic Cafe) and it took a lot of power to run from what I recall checking it out a decade back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm Rich in Washington:

I need to get a hold of my friend Dennis. He just bought and was having restored a Scopitone player and was going to have a premiere party for it before covid hit. He's a film collector who also has hundreds of scopitone reels.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59pm Rich in Washington:

This is my fave G&C album.
Avatar 5:59pm spacebrother:

@ Otis - Have to see that the next time I visit!
Avatar 5:59pm spacebrother:

@ Rich - I'd make a trip to see that.
Avatar 6:00pm spacebrother:

Gonna run over a bit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm Rich in Washington:

Seriously? I'll keep you posted. The same dude is also part of a tentatively planned Vampira/Maila Nurmi event to take place in Astoria, OR, where Maila went to high school.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm Rich in Washington:

Go over! GO GO!
Avatar 6:02pm Otis:

Unsure it's still in operation here, that was a decade ago but possibly. For sure, Atomic Cafe is a cool place here Greg, few spots next time you visit MTL.

Thanks Greg for the Tunes and Toons!
Avatar 6:02pm spodiodi:

thanks, Spacebrother!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:02pm Scott67:

Thanks Greg!✌😎🌏
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:03pm Rich in Washington:

Thanks, spacebrother! I will check out more of The Rattles, fo sho!
  6:03pm chillroom:

Good show, Greg.
  6:04pm John R:

Good afternoon SBG and everyone!
Avatar 6:04pm spacebrother:

Thanks all for listening!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05pm Rich in Washington:

byeeeee!
Avatar 6:07pm Mr Fab:
