  10:07pm ?:

I just ordered The Man Downstairs: Demos & Rarities from Robyn's bandcamp page. I hope that's where that version of "Arnold Layne" comes from. Cheers Ira!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08pm Franco Twinkie:

Mad song parodies - the best! My favorite was You're A Grand Old Bag sung to the tune of You're a Grand Old Flag. Not about a woman, but a plastic dry cleaning bag.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm Franco Twinkie:

Haha! I didn't know that one Slug. My mom always bought canned asparagus when we were growing up, so I believed that I hated them. They were so mushy and horrid, my sister and I would throw them out the back door at the side of our neighbors house. Well dip me in shit, when I grew-up I found out I loved fresh asparagus. I just had some today!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm McGroovey:

Since Grazed?
  10:28pm georgia:

definitely left my post as producer.. ira since grazed, yes correct edd lp title
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28pm Kat in Chicago:

Canned asparagus sounds dreadful.
  10:29pm sslownerveactionss:

There's canned asparagus?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29pm coelacanth∅:

in our house we had the option if someone was over and asked where the bathroom was to say go up the stairs, then to sing to the tune of bad moon rising "there's a bathroom on the right" - but i only know of that happening once.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29pm Franco Twinkie:

I saw Rusty when he was in Poco. He sounded like Richie Blackmore only twangier.
Avatar 10:30pm northguineahills:

@franco: My parents didn't cook, so that's what I had (canned). Then, i discovered how to cook, and found fresh asparagus is amazing when done right.
Avatar 10:30pm northguineahills:

jajajaja, Georgia!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm chresti:

I was the same with canned green peas and hotdogs, I'd throw them out the kitchen door.
Swag For Life Member 10:30pm Ira:

I don't know about you, but there's no guitar where I'm sitting!
  10:31pm Vertual:

My dad used to put used canned asparagus in omelettes...i actually loved that when i was a kid. But also used to eat corned beef hash and underwood deviled ham...not sure how i'm still here.

  10:33pm absmiami:

anyone care to weigh in on the Ramones biopic casting ??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Sounds similar to my experience with broccoli. Never cared for the stuff my mom bought (maybe canned or frozen or something). Then discovered fresh broccoli from an uncle's garden and I've been buying it from the produce section ever since.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34pm coelacanth∅:

Kat i hope so! - if he never did he should have!
(after all, Jimi honored the misinterpreted "excuse me while i kiss this guy", at least once)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35pm coelacanth∅:

i like Ray's vocal on this especially because it reminds me of Marc Bolan
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35pm McGroovey:

  10:36pm Vertual:

Orson welles was such a ...giant...in many ways...now who do we have ? matthew mcconaughey? please.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:38pm Franco Twinkie:

One day my sister and I decided to vary our routine so we decided to throw the asparagus at the door to the dining room. My mom walked in the kitchen and wanted to what the hell was so funny. We were gasping for air we were laughing so hard which only mad her madder.

Avatar 10:49pm slugluv1313:

hi chresti, ngh, coela!
@Franco -- yeah, never heard it anywhere else -- just recall one of the other girls singing it and it kinda caught on

and omg my younger sister hated asparagus too when we were young! (and my Mom may have even had the fresh stuff then too?) -- one night my Mom was like, "you are not leaving this table until you eat that asparagus!" -- she had a piece in her mouth but REFUSED to eat it -- she sat there until well after dark, i think my Dad finally let her leave the kitchen table
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51pm Gurldoggie:

It’s too late for me Coelacanth. But you can still save your own ass!
Avatar 10:51pm slugluv1313:

Ira, this has been a difficult year for Hollywood, but one movie I saw that I highly recommend is The Mole People with Hugh Beaumont(Beavers dad) and John Agar(A war hero) I don't now if it's been short listed for any awards at the Oscars, but it shows when the chips are down, Hollywood can still deliver thought provoking fare that isn't afraid to ruffle some feathers.

Avatar 11:26pm John L:

Shudder is running a bunch of Val Lewton films. Conway is in three of them, I think.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28pm Franco Twinkie:

Unfortunately for me, 4/20 aligns perfectly with the height of hay fever season. TCH is pollen. I am highly allergic to pollen, otherwise I would be totally ripped just like the rest of you.
Avatar 11:28pm glennfromglendale:

I lost my job yesterday and this 4/20 edible bakery and delivery company saw my post and came buy with a gift of cupcakes for me today. The woman who runs it said she lost her restaurant job 4 years ago and said that she visceraly rememberd how it hurt so she had to do something for me. What an angel. Her kind act really halted a self pity spiral i was about to fall into. It meant so much to me and my day!

also hello all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31pm Franco Twinkie:

The only time I've ever been fired, I went to Venice Beach and sat in the sand an smoked so much weed I couldn't stand up, let alone go in the water. I still fell bad about getting fired.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31pm coelacanth∅:

right on glenn (fg)
- still good humans here & there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Good luck, glenn. Hoping things turn around quickly for you.
Avatar 11:35pm glennfromglendale:

Thanks y'all. wonderful people have reached out to try and help me land on my feet. Good people really take the sting away

Coelacanth that was a great point about King Kong and T Rex. And to think, one gave us "20th Century Man" and the other gave us "20th Century Boy."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37pm melinda:

@georgia I read that as Tim Conway, haha

i got fired once but the store owner wanted me to stay 30 days and hire someone to replace me and train the person. i hired someone but she wasn't interested in being manager
...anyway on the final day i was saying goodbye to customers, some pictures taken, a few teary eyes even; and near the end of the day the owner said what's going on? then it seemed that he'd forgotten and said well you can stay another month if you want.
i said "Bye!"
- but really it stands as the favorite job i've ever had.

Michael S that hadn't dawned on me!

...pretty much have to be fired to leave anything so I've been fired from most everything...
WiFi I'm stealing is not the good WiFi but the gym across the street - consequently not much for listening & playlist @ the same time - tho right now it's pretty good... Irony then is that new century interwebz are as capricious as old century radiowavez for me...WiFi I'm stealing is not the good WiFi but the gym across the street - consequently not much for listening & playlist @ the same time - tho right now it's pretty good... Coel, what was the job?
  11:44pm chresti in bed:

Thank you Ira! Goodnight all of yous!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45pm HyperDose:

Take care chresti! Tomorrow night at Sheena's, don't be square!
Swag For Life Member 11:45pm Ira:

I carried a sandwich board for a while. I rigged it so I could read a book while parading back and forth in front of NYC's top model train store (advertising NYC's 2nd best model train store, across the street). I figured no one would want to bump into my sandwich board, and it worked out pretty well. I wonder if they're hiring?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45pm Jason from Houston:

Goodnight, chresti! Sleep well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47pm Franco Twinkie:

Chresti is playing with her phone in the dark. She really hates to go to bed early and miss stuff just because she has to go to work in the morning.

Was it the Red Caboose on 45th Street? That street had lots of model train shops back in the day. Red Caboose is still around.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48pm Mike W:

they made music out of the sound in my head
and it’s good!
Swag For Life Member 11:49pm Ira:

The store I was essentially picketing was on the north side of the street. The competitor I was working for was on the south side. 45th St. sounds right.
Avatar 11:50pm glennfromglendale:

Ahh the model train district
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50pm coelacanth∅:

Franco, manager of a natural foods/supplements store. (i wasn't hied as a manager and there was no official title, but that's what it turned into)
  11:52pm Alla Bored:

Red Caboose is the established one on the north side. 23 West 45th Street. Has an interesting history. A relic still in business despite it all. https://sideways.nyc/2014/05/the-red-caboose-hobby-shop/

Good show Ira. Celebrating your return to the studio, a saner drug policy, and our relief that for once the American justice system got something right. May it be a trend.

Cheers to all that! Goodnight!
