Irene, or am i running toward something? :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm chris in the redwoods:

congrats, Sean!
  1:19pm Jazz Upholsterer:

how much does it cost WFMU for me to stream the stations 8 or 10 hours a day in my shop? whats an hour of streaming cost?
Avatar 1:21pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Isn’t this the best show on the planet.
Avatar 1:21pm βrian:

Lump sum ÷ 12
I don't get it.
  1:22pm Annabella LL Van Clute:

Hi Music is love as David Crosby said
Avatar 1:23pm βrian:

Yes, more salty language on the Drummer Stream!
Avatar 1:24pm Sean in Bristol UK:

@Jazz, as long as your broadband package is unlimited, fill your boots. Even with a data plan of say 10 gig you should be ok. I stream WFMU via the app on my fruit based device and it tickles my 10 gig of data a month
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm Stanley:

Sean - WFMU has to pay for the bandwith we draw, so to speak. Jazz Upholsterer: a question I have often asked myself. Maybe Doug has an idea. I am aware the bandwidth costs a small fortune, so I turn off the streams, like the lights, when I leave the room.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Stanley:

And hello everyone.
  1:26pm Annabella LL Van Clute:

It’s sunny but cold in Crewkerne U.K. early evening
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm David Dichelle:

Hello Stanley!
Avatar 1:27pm Stork:

Hello Irene and David and the rest of the family!
We're rolling down Prizes Road! WHEEEEEEE!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm Stanley:

Annabella - you live in a nice place.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm David Dichelle:

And Stork!
Avatar 1:27pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Stanley, I didn’t know that, I love the app and it shouldn’t be a free download
  1:28pm Jazz Upholsterer:

would be great if there was a formula to calculate it so we can know the real cost of our addiction to WFMU
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm chris in the redwoods:

hi, Stanley.
Jazz, the idea of the Mouse of Today pledge, i believe, was aimed at folks like us who listen to the streams. but i feel a good rule of thumb is give as much as you can to WFMU. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm Summer and Michael and Sylvia:

Working and lurking and loving your show, as ever, Irene!
Avatar 1:28pm Sem:

@Jazz U: Station Manager addressed that question yesterday on the State of the Station address here:wfmu.org...
Avatar 1:29pm Sean in Bristol UK:

@Stanley, Crewkerne was my home town 30 years back so fond memories
  1:29pm Annabella LL Van Clute:

Any other Mets fans tuned in Sean Mets to win this year
  1:29pm Jazz Upholsterer:

Thank you Sem
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm David Dichelle:

Greetings Summer and Michael and Sylvia!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm Doug Schulkind:

Let's Go Irene! Let's Go Mets! Let's Go Irene!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm Stanley:

Hi David.
JU: I agree, like I said, maybe Doug has an idea.
Sean: yes, even us downloading the app costs them money.
Chris: Absolutely, I remember but the ol' Mouse is not mentioned much nowadays. Anyhows, a dollar day for what you get is, is embarrassing.
Sem: thanks for reminding me, I'll listen later. And nice to see you again.
Sean: A part of the world I don't know. I'm at theother end of the country. Though I have fond memories of my wayward youth spent at festivals and drinking massive amounts of beer in Shepton Mallet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm Irene Trudel:

Welcome Summer and Michael and Sylvia, Stork, Stanley and Jazz Upholsterer. I don't know about that method of checking our addiction scales-- probably off the charts for most of us!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm Irene Trudel:

Doug, Let's Go Mets!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm David Dichelle:

Plenty of room for pledgers ($20 or more) to be in the running for this hour's prizes, including the Cinder Well CD. Pledge to this show at the top of the page or at wfmu.org...
Avatar 1:38pm Sean in Bristol UK:

So went for my first jab today followed by a trip to the dentist where I had the pleasure of another needle being waved in front of my face, ok, being over dramatic but as a needle phobic I felt I was in the seventh circle of hell! The only thing that kept me sane was tuning into Irene. I am a wuss but even watching the news where you see the goodness of people of the planet getting their shots has me running and hiding behind the sofa! Yes, I need somebody to hold my hand!!
Avatar 1:38pm Sem:

Stanley, you are welcome, and good to see you as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm Stanley:

I get my first jab on Wednesday.
I'm a little nervous.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm David Dichelle:

Hey there, Doug!
Avatar 1:42pm Sean in Bristol UK:

So pumped up for our Metsies this season, full of hope and optimism, will it be dashed? But 162 games this year, yeah, baby!
Avatar 1:42pm βrian:

7 feet 9¼ inches is how far they stand from you when delivering the jab.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm Stanley:

βrian: that's one helluva long needle!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm Stanley:

Or do they throw it into your arm like darts?
Avatar 1:44pm βrian:

Oh, no. Only an inch or so. Hope for a tight grouping, at the least.
Avatar 1:44pm βrian:

I suppose blow guns are another option.
Avatar 1:47pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Brian, Stanley, you are making me queasy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm YETI BOB:

Sean - I hate hate HATE needles. But I'm going to get the Covid jab as soon as I can
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Irene Trudel:

βrian, I do think you exaggerate a little!
Avatar 1:48pm Stork:

Wow. Haven't heard Linda Cohen in years. Still remember finding the LP in the WFMU library in East Orange - 25+ yrs ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm Stanley:

Sorry, Sean. No more talk of needles.
Avatar 1:49pm βrian:

I recall getting novocaine delivered via reusable steel syringes by a rather elderly dentist with delerium tremens. He did not inspire confidence.
Avatar 1:50pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Yeti, here’s the thing, it is just a pinch and reasonably painless. I can’t even watch the horrendous process.
Avatar 1:51pm βrian:

Ok, except to say that 6yrOld handled her flu shot surprisingly well. A bit of trepidation, but deep breaths helped her through.
  1:51pm Annabella LL Van Clute:

Sean I have Eye injections now I hate needles but but am beating my fear
Avatar 1:52pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Thank you, Stanley, is it my imagination but is my arm starting to swell and there is another head growing out of my shoulder, just kidding folks
Avatar 1:55pm Stork:

Wait, which head just said "just kidding, folks?"
Avatar 1:57pm βrian:

Is that Berlin, VT?
  1:58pm Dean:

Thank you!
Avatar 1:58pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Congrats, Dean
Avatar 1:59pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Very good, Stork, it was the one to the left of me!!
  2:01pm Dean:

Thanks, Sean in Bristol UK.
  2:01pm Annabella LL Van Clute:

Wow riccherd Thompson Ii am friends with Fairport Convention
Avatar 2:03pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Pubs will be losing a fortune this Wednesday but feeling hopeful this will be the last time. Pubs will be rocking soon.
Avatar 2:04pm βrian:

I'm sure they'll be rocking in Texas and Florida.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm David Dichelle:

βrian: It's the big Berlin, Berlin.
Avatar 2:05pm βrian:

I should've guessed. Berlin, VT has the accent on the first syllable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Michael 98145:

i'm not too proud to indulge in a bit of Jameson
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm David Dichelle:

βrian: I suppose the big city can be a bit more stress-ful.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm Irene Trudel:

Here's the link to Adrian Crowley's St. Patrick's Day performance this Wednesday: www.stpatricksfestival.ie...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Irene Trudel:

That's really cool, Anabella! Unfortunately nobody is in the running for Richared's "13 Rivers" LP. A pledge of as little as $20 can get you in the running for that prize.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm David Dichelle:

Pledge to keep this show, stream and station alive at the top of this page or via: wfmu.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm doctorjazz:

Is this up (Richard Thompson)? He has a memoir out, and I think a concert with Judy Collins, if I remember correctly).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm David Dichelle:

Dr. J.: Yes, it is the next prize, a double LP.
  2:21pm Annabella LL Van Clute:

What a happy vibe and Fairports Cropredy festival is on in August
Avatar 2:22pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Hey Trukeepers, times are hard but reaching out to this awesome listeners, your pledges have been a thing of beauty, how about a top pledge, 20 bucks, that’s a latte, toasted sandwich and a muffin. This station got us through a really tough time
  2:23pm Dean:

Sure wish I'd kept my Peter Banks LP.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm David Dichelle:

The Richard Thompson will go to someone randomly chosen from all those pledging now, $20 or more - and $75 or more for the Grand Prize, the Steve Tibbetts 3CD set.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm doctorjazz:

OK, I'm in (going past my SFL...)
Avatar 2:25pm Sean in Bristol UK:

Pretty foggy with my memory now but there is a Genesis connection with Mr Banks?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Rick from SC:

I'd forgotten how good this Peter Banks LP was. @Dean, I actually have 2 copies of this for some reason.
  2:27pm Dean:

He was the original Yes guitarist. Steve Hackett appears on this album, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:28pm David Dichelle:

Thanks, Dr. J.!
  2:28pm Annabella LL Van Clute:

Happy memories singing with John Bomhams sister Debbie backstage at Cropredy 210 we sang price of my heart and Mercedes Benz
  2:28pm Dean:

If I could remember distinguishing features of my old copy, Rick from SC, I'd ask if your second copy had been mine.
Avatar 2:30pm Kay:

Peter Banks was guitarist with Flash, too.
Avatar 2:31pm Sean in Bristol UK:

@Annabella, your experience and memories form Cropredy has to be a thing of beauty, so envious
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm Doug Schulkind:

If you scan the WFMU website, you'll set that Irene has playlists going all the way back to 1996!! But guess what, that's just because that was the first year WFMU began posting playlists online. Irene has years and years of playlists from pre-1996 before WFMU embraced the internet. Irene is a WFMU lifer, someone who has spent very nearly her entire adult life contributing to WFMU. Both making it a better place and, it goes without saying, making simply beautiful radio. It is impossible to imagine a WFMU without Irene Trudel, and, thank the great Coltrane in the sky, we don't have to!

Nice little quote from "When I Fall in Love" there from Mary Halvorsen. Now a nice solo from Michael Formanek. yum!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Irene Trudel:

The ensemble playing now-- Thumbscrew with Mary Halvorsen-- Is performing as a part of the Alternative Guitar summit, which hosts a tribute to Pat Martino streaming Saturday night and some Virtual Visionary Solos on Sunday afternoon: alternativeguitarsummit.com...
  2:47pm Dean:

Halvorsen's playing is reminiscent of Banks' two tracks back.
