Last time I saw YLT was at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC. No opener, just two long sets of amazing music. Can't wait for the day that's possible again.
A song like "Heroes" is a perfect type of song to request — one that most of the band woud be familiar with. Keep those request-level pledges ($100 or more) coming! Click on the black widget above our pretty young faces and the page will guide you.
mariano - was a chef on Splendid Table this am - born in Bayou big family and extended family of fisher folk ... sort of laments that her childhood food staples have become costly and rarer for regular folk:Melissa M. Martin and her very personal book, The Mosquito Supper Club.. The Murghal woman was also of great interest:

I requested a Steve Winwood song or any Who song they haven't ever done before. If nobody else requested "So Sad About Us" then I will go to sleep thinking that was my request. Unless it was for Tim 07030.
Morphe': That's cool, I'll definitely listen to that archive, thanks! Things are slowly coming back to life here; I was just at my supermarket, and they have their outdoor crawfish/shrim/crab-boil station all set up, might have to go back later with a wheelbarrow.
Pro tip: while like me you may love many many shows on WFMU and would want to shout them out, if you want your YLT request to be played you need to check ONLY the Todd-o-phonic Todd show for your $100 YLT pledge! otherwise the pledge-o-matic will chop it up and split it - puttimg it under the $100 threshhold!
I think it was the first marathon in the monty Hall bldg I was out driving and on a whim pulled over and called into Gaylord’s show I think from a pay phone and said I would double my House of Today pledge if I could come up and watch YLT do the requests. My request was granted and I enjoyed the show even tho nobody offered me a beer.

Love this REM track, great request and loving the cover!
"But Danne I pledge $180 and want to be sure I get 3 different premiums" you might say. Well, that gets taken care of in your swag selection boxes - to get that request played you still need to keep it only in the Todd bucket. (And make sure Todd is selected). If you pledge from this playlist page Todd only will be the default :)
You're welcome :) Also make sure you DO select the Todd box and not the "All of WFMU" box. This will make me a happier pledge card runner next year. And YES based on prior years if you pledge NOW you do have a good shot to hear your song. So PLEDGE PLEDGE PLEDGE!
I still haven't heard mine, but it's alright if it was too obscure! ^_^

Danne D:
Yer Request Can Still Happen Folks! I mean maybe not if it is like "Siberian Khatru" but as The Great Gaylord says it ain't Stump The Band - PLEDGE NOW
ha, what was yours, Gus? I requested the original "2001: A Space Odyssey" theme song that Kubrick rejected (which was just put out as a single a couple of weeks ago - I first heard it on Ken's show)
@glisten oh that is a good one. mine is "sweet thing" by lee hazelwood and ann margaret and i said i'd pledge another $100 if they segued it into van morrison's "sweet thing"
And that reminds me of past amazing efforts to make this happen under trying circumstances - they did it from Berlin while on tour in 2013 - and yes with Bruce! and the year they took a redeye back after playing the night before at SXSW, doing the FMU marathon a few hours later.
Hello YLT, Todd, Gaylord, fellow DJs, and listeners. I am happy to have returned to my radio for Night Moves (which is always "Night Cheese" thanks to Tina Fey)
Shane the D, wow I've listened to some songs off those albums (particularly their cover of Downtown which I find so endearingly sloppy) but I did not realize it was recorded on WFMU! Thanks for letting me know, just one more reason to love the station
@Miss G, we did! If you contact me through my profile I can send you a picture of the pile of food!

Shane the D:
Bergey: yeah, the Murdering the Classics cds are basically a WFMU Marathon "greatest hits" albums. I'm not sure if they're still available on YLT's website, but you can probably find them somewhere.
While we're at it Todd, The Nixon Library is in Yorba Linda NOT San Clemente.

Congrats and thanks, everyone.
@Jack - Unless it squeezes into a medley, my request won't make it. It was "Blue Jean" from Bowie. I wasn't able to come up with any well-known song about pants by an artist that wasn't already played. Haha!
Thanks Todd, Gaylord, Yo La Tengo and Crew for three hours of great entertainment and a big thank you to all the wonderful listeners who have pledged.
love you all.
As much as life has thrown us some crazy curveballs these past few years, one thing remains steady, that's WFMU. Thanks Todd, Gaylord and the whole YLT crew (Bruce 2!)
Thanks, everyone for listening, for pledging, for your song requests that make this a unique annual event! Coming up next is Transpacific Sound Paradise with Rob Weisberg and his co-host Tamar. Please keep pledging to WFMU!
OMG, HA! ^_^ - that was even funnier than actually doing the 2001 vocal theme song. Kudos to you all, and all at WFMU + volunteers who put this amazing show on each year!

Not that I think they normally sound tired. No. I just mean that they sound like they've been playing these songs for years, and they still like them.
...Does this song say 'Balthazar' ? Cause I always thot Balthazar...
