Sonic Boom smoked me out when I was 20 when he played w/ EAR (oddly a full house in FL). The next year. Spectrum played at the same people and there were only 8 people there. He remembered me, and smoked my friend up again, and gave us a tour of his analog synths. when I 26, I saw the Spacemen 3 reunion at Brownies, and he did the same....

NYC is until 4am, and open at 8am. But in practice, many are open 24/7. They just lock up and shutter the front and you go in and out through the back (usually only for special dance parties). Then again, my Yemeni bodega would sell me booze 24/7, b/c I was friendly w/ them and talked Yemeni folk and pop music to them...
