Ai Carumba!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm sphere:

@ tim from champaign: Saw Lungfish live when I was in college and they were way intense. Slash 6 opened, it was a great show.
  3:12pm winston legthigh:

straps on tight now thats what im talkin about. 'afternoon scott, rockers, rollers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm David (in London):

Perhaps we need a Lungfish / Skafish split single.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm sphere:

What, no "Nothing Is Easy"? :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm tim from champaign (now washington):

@DiL - definitely dig into Lungfish. Start at the beginning. Each album builds on the next. Their last albums are wonderful meditations on the riff. Aso, check out their singer Daniel Higgs's music, poetry and visual art. He IS The Illustrated Man.

  3:20pm BH:

trying to ease my tension caused by random annoyance...
gonna focus in on the good things like the cat that decided around 7:40am that it was time to jump in bed and sleep (nearly 7 hours later, she's still there)
  3:22pm BH:

although her method of getting to the other side of the bed could be better, meaning her claws not making contact with me as she walks over the pillow to get around me

Cheers to YOU, Brother Scott!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm efd:

I am appreciating a light work meeting schedule (no more until 4:30!), allowing me to enjoy the first half of the Scott show, as well as the sun streaming in my west-facing window.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm JohnEBGood:

I love Baltimore the people and the Inner Harbor. Many from the Atlantic City area took getaways there. Arnold Palmers on the dock 🥤
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm steveo:

Also enjoying the sun and the show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm Scott Williams:

I am in total agreement with Tim up there, and very happy to see you this afternoon, EFD. My south facing window is doing quite nicely too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm sphere:

To me, the greatest thing about Baltimore is that the art scene is very serious and doesn't take itself very seriously at the same time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm courtneynoir:

No meetings left for me today either! I get to listen to the whole show finally
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm tim from champaign (now washington):

Baltimore is a city that I need to visit. It sounds right up my alley.
  3:31pm winston legthigh:

Yeah, I'm just about ready to call it a day here. Sun never really streams in to this ground floor hallway we call home, but I'm enjoying the lightness of the shadows.

Hey, prof.fuzz! Settling in for the Wednesday-night wild ride?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm tim from champaign (now washington):

I'm going to stop posting about each awesome song and just declare Scott's opening set to be completely kick ass.

My friend wrote an exhaustive history on Mel Lyman and company. If I can dig up the ancient html link, I will share it at some point. Stunning/weird.
  4:16pm novakscene:

One of my favorite moments in Astral Weeks the book is when the band Orpheus spots an ad for the band playing in SF while they are back in Boston, and it is revealed that their management put another band together to go out on tour as Orpheus and play their songs. Not a totally unheard of practice in those days, but still, must have been a shock.
Avatar 4:16pm Jeff Moore:

Wow, what a fucked-up enterprise. I like this little chunk of the Wikipedia article:

The community's primary activity was construction and remodeling work. The foremost goal was to provide a supportive environment for Lyman to do his creative work.

[...] Lyman seemed to believe that one could only be truly creative when one was "real" or "awake" – defined in practice as experiencing intense pain or anger

Busy working, but I just want to share that my partner came in during the Dokaka track and said "If I had to make a mix for someone to describe what kind of music they play on WFMU, this might be the first track."

Wait this is Cher? No?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Krys O.:

In a nutshell, the issues at my job involve our computer network going kaput since the 16th. Production, accounting, everything was hobbled. On top of this nearly 3 feet of snow accumulated cumulatively since the beginning of the month. Light at the end of the proverbial tunnel is finally showing this week. My brain is mush.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm steveo:

Is this Cher?

Nice Stevo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm McGroovey:

And I suppose track #2 would be a John Oswald track. And #3 could be AC/DC and track #4 could be ummm a song about going to the dentist, segueing into Maria Muldaur .... No, wrong female vocalist...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm JG:

@Morphe , how does that Yiddish translate, roughly to English?
  5:45pm headcleaner:

I still wash everything I have to bring in + can't leave out in the hall for a week. The risk is small, but it's a risk.

@headcleaner Samezies. Gotten an untold number of deliveries since last year, and have had people in and out of my apt for the past 2 days. Been scrubbing it down like a damn hospital. Being overly-cautious has worked for me this far.
