Listener comments!
Hello grooovers.
a dyslexic day, it seems.
Where's Phillippe, though, he usually organises the catering. It's a bit of a bunfight without him.
And for later, Norway's my guess.
Hey David iL.
Phillippe Bastille, twelve egg omelette, please.
Brian: quail or emu?
My guess for this week is: Turkmenistan.
Whats-up David in London?
back to work calls for me. listening when i can.
HyperDose, I've got a spare bottle of wheat beer here if you'd like one.
@Phillippe Is this a ghost train? Have I perished?
Hola TDK60 \\ // I'll stick with Mongolia.
OK, I missed a couple just now going to the corner for spinach. But I was here for the Roud. I'm calling it a win!
I'm guessing Canada this week. Don't know why -- watch it be the Gambia after all!
YoSpodiYodi
Hi spodi! \\//
Hi chresti! \\//
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (which could be a band as well as a place!)
Hey, David (iL), Bas, Hubig, chresti, TDK60, YB, spodi, chris, Michael, Sem and all other upthread friends!
Hubig, yeah, there's a seriously overpriced "organic grocery" on the corner. For most things, it's too much (like, e.g., $6 for egg and cheese on a roll!), but it has a good deal on large containers of spinach usually and also, oddly, on good organic eggs.
It's especially galling in that it's on the same block as our only local diner, which was priced out by rising rents *three years ago* yet the storefront is still empty. (It was $2.50 for egg and cheese on a roll there, and they had homemade hot sauce!)
a bit later i'll be driving to get eggs from a local farm. $10/dozen - honor system.
Last track sounded like Saoud Massi.
Bas, there's some of you in this song!
Hi everyone
Gentrified storefronts? We got ya covered if you need sailing-themed crap to wear or display (full disclosure: I do not work for the Annapolis tourism board)
How do Stanloid?
Also ... "stampot"? Is that right?
I have only managed to catch Jan's show a couple of times, but it's always been great.
Thanks!
ride on, riders, right on
I haven't been to The Netherlands since my bad old days (and that's a long time ago).
I do remember fellas eating (if that's the right word) pickled herrings with beer.
(Well, not the meat parts -- but all the rest!)
We stayed in a houseboat the one weekend we were in Amsterdam. We also found an AMAZING Lebanese restaurant.
Hallo Sem
I swear we did more than eat when we were there, though.
We met our Edinburgh friends in Amsterdam. One of my fave stories is that they went back a few months later. They returned to EDI and caught a cab home with one of the Famously Chatty Cabbies of Edinburgh. Totally standard issue: white hair, blue eyes, deep Edinburgh accent. He of course asks them where they came in from, and when they say "Amsterdam," he laughs and gives a knowing "oh ho!" Rob says, "Oh, no, nothing like that -- we were just there for a conference." And the cabbie says, as if heartbroken to realize it, "Nae coffeeshops? Nae space cakes?"
I had a friend in Den Haag, still lots of places to have fun but far less visitors. The Trojan Horse was the club/gig place of choice. I wonder if it's still there.
I heard the same, Stanley.
have some friends who made a short (low-budget) film called Space Chocolate, that made use of a pizza box as a spaceship
Yeti Bob - What a cool photo! All drummer should look like that by law!
Groot set David, many thanks again.
See you all later for a Rijstaffel.

Yes we have no mountains with Jan Turkenburg.
thank you David. Onward.
