(Bonus Track) Dexter Gardner  Side 1   Options Last Testamony Of A Teenage Dope Addict  6:33  A disturbing local recording. My friend Steve Anderson found his yearbook photos. The first time you see Dexter, he looks like a happy smiling kid with his whole life ahead of him. Then, as the years pass after taking drugs the smile begins to fade to a more distant and despondent look. There is a reason I've never played this at record gatherings, but if I don't play it during this show, I don't know when I would. So sad.

Avatar 2:01pm BC Sterrett:

Welcome :)
Avatar 2:02pm Sem:

Hello, BCS. Ears ready to be filled w/ whatever you're spinning.
Avatar 2:02pm Sem:

Oh, the art looks like Francis Bacon, alot.
Avatar 2:03pm BC Sterrett:

Hi Sem!
Avatar 2:11pm BC Sterrett:

Avatar 2:15pm BC Sterrett:

Tell me about Francis Bacon. A painter?
Avatar 2:26pm BC Sterrett:

I guess that you announce you're playing religious records and listeners scatter.
Avatar 2:26pm Sonderangebot:

Hi BC! I love the cover of Turning Point!
Avatar 2:27pm BC Sterrett:

Thanks Sonder :) I love hand written fonts as well
Avatar 2:33pm BC Sterrett:

This record and Turning Point were a couple of the hardest records for me to find. My copy of Million Dollar Monkey is without a cover. I imagine someone who just wanted to hang that cover on their wall. I barely got Turning Point in my hands last week!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

greetings, BC and folx!
Avatar 2:34pm BC Sterrett:

Hi Granny. I love your animated profile so much.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

thank you
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

sorry, Jello, this isn't a wild, mumbling black preacher, this is sheer wisdom
Avatar 2:40pm BC Sterrett:

Truth
Avatar 2:41pm Sonderangebot:

Hey Granny! BC, I see the price it fetches on discogs. Wow. Also, this show is kind of strange background music to work by haha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

it is an interesting soundtrack to my cleaning up some hand-me-down furnishings i just got!
Avatar 2:43pm BC Sterrett:

It's an odd duck show today
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm WR:

this conversation is direct and intense. Yes, Mx Granny, truth from the street. Individually true and scary when thinking how many thousands times more this story is true for.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

i get lots of inspiration from hearing folx who made it through
Avatar 2:45pm BC Sterrett:

Because my copy of this was without a cover I didn't have to pay the $200 + price
Avatar 2:48pm BC Sterrett:

I think I'm the only one of my brothers who didn't try drugs and alcohol. It seemed pretty clear learning from other's choices/ mistakes around me, not to, for me.
Avatar 2:50pm Domenic:

Good for you BC.
Avatar 3:01pm BC Sterrett:

I had to uncover his grave from dead wet leaves, thus the wet colorization. That was back at 2018.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm chresti:

Hi BC and gathering!
Avatar 3:08pm Sonderangebot:

"He steals PETTICOATS for buy DRUGS!!!!" I can visualize this title on a sensational newspaper haha.
Avatar 3:09pm BC Sterrett:

I now work at a clothing store and I'm amazed how much theft goes on. I had no idea. Not a week or two goes by when I'm asked to follow suspicious customers around the store.
Avatar 3:09pm Sonderangebot:

ok to buy drugs... ahhh I type too fast
Avatar 3:09pm Sonderangebot:

I bet, BC!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm chresti:

I hate to be a complainer, but I can't read the comments.
Avatar 3:10pm BC Sterrett:

Oh! I'll change the color :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm chresti:

Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm Scott67:

G'day BC & Archivists!
Thanks for changing colours. 😎
Avatar 3:13pm BC Sterrett:

Hi Scott :)
Avatar 3:15pm BC Sterrett:

You're welcome. Sorry about that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm Scott67:

BC, your cool mate! Just my 7am eyes couldn't cope. 😉
Avatar 3:21pm Sem:

Riveting stuff, thanks, BCS.
Avatar 3:21pm BC Sterrett:

Thanks Sem
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm Scott67:

BC, you're not familiar with Francis Bacon? He was an Irish Painter. You should check him out, pretty intense stuff.
Avatar 3:24pm BC Sterrett:

Thanks, I'll check him out!
  3:26pm chaseestes:

Some pretty eye-opening content here. The Million Dollar album is also a sought after for spiritual and free jazz collectors.
Avatar 3:27pm Sonderangebot:

Cool, I was thinking that Micah might have played some Synanon, and he did!
Avatar 3:28pm BC Sterrett:

Hi Chase!
Avatar 3:28pm Mr Fab:

Yes, BC, i work at a supermarket now, and shoplifting is a regular thing. Sometimes we catch em, some times we dont.
  3:29pm chaseestes:

Hey Blair!
Avatar 3:29pm BC Sterrett:

I wish I could do more to stop shoplifters. If I did some of the things I suggested they said I'd get fired, for fear of me getting stabbed or whatnot.
Avatar 3:32pm Sonderangebot:

Ha this is great!
Avatar 3:32pm BC Sterrett:

I really love this track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm chresti:

Mr. Fab, which one?
Avatar 3:35pm BC Sterrett:

The censored needle on the cover of this one is part of the original art.
Avatar 3:37pm Sonderangebot:

I have needle scars in my arms... but from doing too many medical testing studies, not drugs. :)
Avatar 3:37pm Mr Fab:

We've had some fairly sophisticated operations come in - while one person distracts employees, others do the shoplifting and wait in getaway cars. But usually it's some stoner who walks out with something, and I ask, you didn't pay for that, would you please return it? And they're like: uh, ok...
Avatar 3:38pm BC Sterrett:

Makes sense. I have a nice scar or two from when I used to donate plasma.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm chresti:

I think Art Pepper was in Synanon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm Rich in Washington:

hello, BC!
hello everybody!
Avatar 3:39pm Sonderangebot:

Have you seen the Synanon movie, BC? Wondering if it's "good".
Avatar 3:40pm BC Sterrett:

Nice Fab. Yeah, we've seen a couple getaway cars. Last week the shop lifters were taking too much time and we had them locked in the store. They just brought their random stash and sheepishly said, "Uh, can you put these things on hold?"
Avatar 3:40pm BC Sterrett:

Hi Rich! I haven't seen the Synanon movie, but I really want to.
Avatar 3:44pm BC Sterrett:

Chase, my Synanon soundtrack LP has that large yellow Starbound sticker.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm Franco Twinkie:

Yup, that's the way it plays itself out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Franco Twinkie:

Aw crap, let's keep on topic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm chresti:

LSD is sounding pretty good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Scott67:

I need a coffee!
Avatar 3:51pm Mr Fab:

Feelin this chocolate chip cookie and Pepsi run thru my veins. i'm peakin!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm chresti:

Willard is harshing my mellow with his devil talk
Avatar 3:52pm BC Sterrett:

Man, this is one of the most eye catching LP covers of all time.
  3:53pm chaseestes:

I've been curious about this one more many years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Scott67:

Blessed be the mute button!
  3:54pm chaseestes:

Haha, Starbound!
Avatar 3:55pm BC Sterrett:

Side 1 was played last week, if you want to hear it in the archives.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm WR:

BC, "My friend Steve Anderson and I", is you the I or Jello B?
Avatar 3:57pm BC Sterrett:

oh the I is me.
Avatar 3:57pm Sem:

Bookmarked and favourited for an opportune moment in the not-to-distant future. It once was lost, but now is found. Thank you again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm chresti:

Thanks BC!
Avatar 3:57pm BC Sterrett:

Next week will be the last on this theme. A few more religious and drug records. Some doozies coming up :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Franco Twinkie:

That's right, wrap it up with a bow and send them on their way. Willard, you don't know shit about acid, seriously.
Avatar 3:58pm BC Sterrett:

Thanks everyone, see you next time!
Avatar 3:58pm Sonderangebot:

Bye BC thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Scott67:

Cheers BC, don't look at Bacon's work before bedtime.😎
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm WR:

Thank BC, I thought you was the I in question but decided to ask to verify. great series of programs, today was particularly thought provoking.
