There's a surprise, well not a real surprise, because you asked for it at the end of the show :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm
Mx. Granny (e/em):

Paper Kosmonaut! Rejoice!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:07pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

I imagine Jan now is diving into his kitchen to start brewing up a copious meal because the record is playing itself anyway.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:07pm

Yay! Looking forward to it, Jan!

Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:10pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Very, Jan.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:13pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

I already had a patatje pinda and a less-than-satisfactory eierbal around 4:30 of which I am still 'enjoying' the burps.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:14pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Non Dutchies: Eierbal: nl.wikipedia.org... and a patatje pinda: duckduckgo.com...
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:16pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Eierballen are hand made and always fresh. Since you cannot freeze an egg. Every northern snack bar has their won recipe and todays was mediocre. Pindasaus is spicy peanut sauce. Delicious over your fries.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:18pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

And that was enough Dutch food-related banter for today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm
Jan Turkenburg:

:-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm
Mx. Granny (e/em):

in San Francisco Bay Area food-related news, there are two flavors by local ice creameries named after the newly sworn-in VP of the US. Kamela Blossom is rose with lotus seeds and pistachios (Kamala means pink lotus, in case you didn't know). Sounds tasty to me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm
Mx. Granny (e/em):

Paper Kosmonaut: and in ARB-related food news—she figured out how to freeze eggs!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm

Yes, sounds good to me too..

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:38pm
Jan Turkenburg:

:-) Do you know The Analogues, Darryl?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:38pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

The Analogues' musical approach is meticulous and amazing. it's just their singing that puts me off every time. The music is almost perfect but those Duts accents...
Avatar 1:38pm
worldsworstrecords:

No Jan... although haven't you played them before?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm
Jan Turkenburg:

No, first time, I'm sure
Avatar 1:40pm
worldsworstrecords:

I don't really understand what they're up to though: what's the point of making a carbon copy cover?
Avatar 1:40pm
worldsworstrecords:

Ahh... I hadn't realised it was live!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:41pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

It's all live. they searched and found all those exact instruments the Beatles used. even if it was just one single sound on one song.
Avatar 1:42pm
worldsworstrecords:

That's pretty cool PK
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:42pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Paul McCartney apparently was amazed, when he heard it.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:43pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

There's a great documentary on the band. With English subtitles! youtu.be...
Avatar 1:45pm
worldsworstrecords:

Thanks PK, I shall watch that later
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, the fact that they are able to produce it live and actually seeing them doing it is gives it a kick. I wasn't impressed when i heard it just on CD first, but after seeing this DVD, I'm converted...
Avatar 1:47pm
worldsworstrecords:

How could this masterpiece be unreleased?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Well, now Bowie's gnome doen't sound that bad anynore, hey?!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:49pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

This Sandy girl smelled like Father Abraham.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm
