Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

that was the best music show ever on TV, hands down. Appoinzment viewing late on Sunday night, even though we had to work in the morning. It died too soon and nothing like Night Music ever showed up on network tv again

The weirdest lineup was Boz Scaggs, the recently departed Betty Wright and a Bulgarian singing trio. Boz and Betty did a great rendition of “Love Is Strange”.

(Zappa was one of the artists I didn't pay much attention to at the time he was putting out music. Learning about it on FMU)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Lizardner Dave 2:

I believe the issue is Dweezil isn't allowed to use the name "Zappa plays Zappa" anymore because of a rift in the family. His siblings own the family name and he no longer has rights to it, somehow.
Avatar 1:51pm Franco Twinkie:

Doc, It's so sad but typical. Sibling war after the parents are gone. Dweezle and Moon vs. Amet and Diva.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm Rich in Washington:

Avatar 1:58pm Listening Out There:

Ooh, gossip...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm Rich in Washington:

Dweezil and Moon seem really with it. Hard to find fault with how they're adulting, vs Ahmet and Diva, who seem content to live off their father's earnings and mother Gail's shrewd, often polarizing business management.
Avatar 1:59pm Dominick:

Hmmm Wonder if Bette's version was influenced by this?
