Many live shows this week, so I'll bail out and catch up on sleep. I also blame having to explain Thanksgiving to a coworker earlier today. That included Detroit and Dallas football games, turkey pardon, and even acknowledging that turducken is a thing

  11/22/17 6:24pm possibilitywaves:

What i did not know relative to the name, until this year, is the nature of the conceptual extravaganza and how it may relate to the shows!
  11/22/17 6:25pm possibilitywaves:

this is just one opinion on the matter but much is a positive read!!

``The term was widely used to describe a type of 19th-century British drama made popular by James Planché. Planché defined it as "the whimsical treatment of a poetical subject."

The term is derived from the Italian word stravaganza, meaning extravagance.

An extravaganza is a literary or musical work (often musical theatre) characterized by freedom of style and structure and usually containing elements of burlesque, pantomime, music hall and parody. It sometimes also has elements of cabaret, circus, revue, variety, vaudeville and mime. ``
Avatar 11/22/17 6:27pm One Potato:

This extravaganza definitely needs more pantomime.

The drunk Judy tape was pretty popular for a while.

Lifetime top 10. Where's everyone else's tapes?

Like where's Chomsky's raw rant?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm Webhamster Henry:

Avatar 3:29pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

(Also so said Nixon)
Avatar 3:29pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I guess I haven't heard the Nixon Tapes. But LBJ, he was already raw.

Really, it's OK to pledge to the station's fundraiser which is happening right as we're here convening in this sonic experience. If you choose this program, you get a fuzzy static blob next to your name too. pledge.wfmu.org...

And oh my gosh, thanks to WR for the recent pledge!

The past is the future. People keep expecting that delegating their power upward is going to come back to them in a good way, and it will keep not doing that.

I'm just sitting on the bench watching the ball game. Can't tell the players without a scorecard - you get them mixed up.

Avatar 3:57pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

That was "The Need for Creative Inquiry (Just sit on the bench and watch the ballgame)", and now, a few months backward in time, it's "The Importance of Having a Voice." Made totally live on the radio without a plan, those moments now embalmed for our pleasure.
