Director Daniel Weintraub discusses "Deep Listening: The Story of Pauline Oliveros," his new documentary film project on the life and work of the composer, performer, educator and humanitarian told through interviews with Oliveros, her peers (Terry Riley, Morton Subotnick) and disciples (Thurston Moore, Laurie Anderson), and rare photographs, home movies, hand-drawn scores and signal flow diagrams, unheard recordings and live performance footage.

Swansea Sound were formed during the COVID lockdown by members of English indie-pop royalty: Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey, both of Heavenly and Talulah Gosh, among others; and Hue Williams of The Pooh Sticks. Now with two albums under their belt they’re coming to the US for the first time, including a live set right here at WFMU!

In the wake of the British invasion in 1964, the songwriting / production team of Bob Feldman, Jerry Goldstein and Richard Gottehrer began releasing music in the guise of a fake Australian group called The Strangeloves. This move paid off with the hit song "I Want Candy" among others. Join DJ Stu Rutherford as he spotlights the music these three men created and released under various "group" names along with material from other artists that they produced.

Although his discography and fan base are relatively small, multi-instrumentalist Donald Rafael Garrett (1932-1989) made an indelible mark on Jazz history. He played and recorded with musicians like Roland Kirk, Dewey Redman, Archie Shepp and most notably, on five John Coltrane albums. Observations of Deviance will explore his solo and sideman recordings along with exclusive audio comments from musicians Charles Tolliver, William Parker and Ronnie Burrage.
