Joel Kotkin, author, "The Coming of Neo-Feudalism"
Monday, August 10th, 6pm - 7pm
Techtonic with Mark Hurst
On the next Techtonic, Joel Kotkin talks about his book "The Coming of Neo-Feudalism," which describes how our tech-dominated economy is destroying the middle class - and what we can do about it.

Colin Stetson
Tuesday, August 11th, 7pm - 8pm
on Morricone Island with Devon E. Levins

Colin Stetson discusses his latest score for NatGeo's "Barkskins" released by Milan Records. Although known for his sax and clarinet work with extended techniques in polyphonics, circular breathing and embouchure, and as a sideman for Tom Waits, Lou Reed, Arcade Fire, Anthony Braxton, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and BadBadNotGood, Colin has also composed for Ari Aster's "Hereditary," Richard Stanley's "Color Out Of Space" and Hulu's "The First," and co-composed "Blue Caprice" and "Lavendar" with his former wife Sarah Neufeld of Arcade Fire.

The Flange and Frigate is having a very special 4 hour show today.
Friday, August 14th, 2pm - 6pm
The Flange & Frigate with DJ GeorgyGirl (on Sheena's Jungle Room Stream)
DJ GeorgyGirl leaves the pub and sets sail on the pirates! August 14th marks the 53rd anniversary of the Marine & Broadcasting (Offences) Act, when the UK pirate radio DJs became full-on outlaws. Expect four hours of slamming 60s tunes, vintage adverts and jingles, pirate atmosphere, and much, much more!

Friday, August 14th, 3pm - 7pm
Matt Fiveash's show (on Give the Drummer Radio stream)
Matt Fiveash returns to his beloved broadcast alma mater Give The Drummer Radio to DJ like no one's listening to try and get you to dance like no one's watching. Without hewing to any particular style of music, an attempt will be made to make the ingredients taste good together. Rock and Roll (whatever that is), Rhythm & Blues, Soul, Funk, Disco, Island rhythms, goofy summer oldies, and hopefully some stuff with curse words in it since we will be out from under the iron hand of the FCC. Tune in and shake-a-you boogie through the generously proportioned Friday happy hour!

John Rocca
Wednesday, August 19th, 9pm - Midnight
The Evan "Funk" Davies Show
John Rocca, leader of the band Freeez, talks about the 40th anniversary of their debut album Southern Freeez, which includes the insanely catchy title song that helped define the early '80s Brit-Funk sound. (Freeez also had the worldwide smash “IOU” in 1983.) Beggars Arkiv has reissued Freeez’s debut album as a 2-disc set that includes brand new music from John. Tune in to WFMU Wednesday night August 19 at 9pm!

The 12th Annual Evan "Funk" Davies Show Disco Dance Party!
Wednesday, August 26th, 9pm - Midnight
The Evan "Funk" Davies Show
It’s the original socially distant dance party! Just you and your radio and three hours of classic dance/disco jams from the mid-'70s to the early '80s. Hook up the disco ball, pull your rug back and turn up the volume. Everybody's dancin', everybody's on the beat, and there ain’t no stoppin' us now! Wednesday night the 26th at 9pm on WFMU!
