Funny that you're playing Empreintes DIGITALes discs. As the show was beginning I made a purchase from Ambiances Magnétiques, a similar label based in Montréal. Picked up the new Klaxon Gueule record.
  12:20pm
Dean:

I think there's another Empreintes DIGITALes label in France. Catalog is mostly classical, early music.
Avatar 12:21pm
Tony Coulter:

I like both of those (Canadian) labels a lot, but haven't been keeping up to date with either. Have quite a bit of catching up to do.

I believe Ambiances Magnétiques was at least at one time, c.2000, associated with a very cool record store in town, L'Oblique. It's where I first heard Klaxon Gueule.

My fave ATV story: they released Vibing Up the Senile Man when I was working at a record store. The dad of a friend/co-worker of mine dropped by the store, spied the album, picked it up and waited in line at the register, only to tell the clerk, "I'd like a dozen of these."

I think L'Empreinte Digitale is the second one of which I was thinking, the one with mostly classical/early music programming based in France.

Another nice coincidence: Prior to your show, Tony, I was playing a recital of Debussy's Préludes by George Lepauw. At 9:00 my time when your show started, it was midway through Book 1, no. 10, La cathédrale engloutie.

ynod, Eggplant (US,[1] Australia,[2] New Zealand, anglophone Canada), aubergine (UK,[3] Ireland, Quebec, and most of mainland Western Europe) or brinjal (South Asia, South Africa)[4] is a plant species in the nightshade family Solanaceae.
