Gorgeous, βrian! My picture is actually a few years old. We took a drive to visit friends in Long Island yesterday and virtually every tree was exploding with color. Couldn't take any new photos because I was driving.

You got that right, james. IF your local trees haven't completely dropped their leaves, I recommend a leaf-peeping walk this week.

Hi Irene. Is this Glorious Guitars Part 3, or did we just happen to start with Sandy Bull and Kenny Burrell? :)

Michael, I totally agree. Today's show will be very calming for most of it. I think we all need it (and can breathe a sigh of relief)!

Which group, doctorjazz? Bill Frisell's Harmony or Julian Lage's Group? Both are equally wonderful. We did get to see Harmony at The Jazz Standard and it was truly sublime.

Hiya Honeybear, Dean and fred! I think Elise was heavily influenced by Nyro. I don't really know Jane Olivor much, so I can't compare.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 1:25pm
Michael 98145:

@Brian, it is good to have a flexible perspective!
Avatar 1:28pm

That upset my cat.

Dean:

Where Nyro was exuberant and loved to belt a tune, Olivor was a more introspective chanteuse. Sometimes cloyingly pop sweet, but I like her. I heard a bit of both in Morris. And now I want to listen to Irene Kral, who was like neither.

Just had an OMG moment as the Banks started. Couldn't see the playlist, but two or three notes into the track my ears perked up and I thought, "This sounds like Peter Banks," whose album I haven't heard in, oh, at least thirty years. Nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm

Ha! That's so amazing, Dean. I have lots of those moments of recognition-- a few notes are all it takes.

Bill D, this Peter Banks album, as you can tell by the crackles, s a well-loved favorite. I think it's out on CD now, and I need to get a new copy as well. βrian, I also love Music for Airports in that same way. Gives me a suspension of time vibe. Dean, I don't know Absolute Elsewhere,. Have to look it up! Oh, and thanks for those links. May of the artists I play have their music up on Bandcamp, and they get the money directly.

YETI BOB:

"Absolute Elsewhere" is a term from Einsteinian physics (Special Relativity) - I always thought it would be a great album title - I didn't know it had been done already! Thanks for another good show Irene - peace, everyone.
Avatar 2:56pm
Constant Follower:

Thanks Irene. Loved the show today. Soothed and inspired!
  2:56pm
Dean:

Absolute Elsewhere is a "concept" album about Von Daniken's then popular "theory" about UFOs. The band leader, Paul Fishman, went on to form Re-Flex, which had a big hit with "The Politics of Dancing." AE sounds nothing like R-F.
