@ultradamno the story of the guy who died in the rocket crash is a bit more nuanced. It's not clear he believed that the earth is flat> He was fatally attached to the idea of building and flying a steam-powered rocket and got some Flat Earthers to fund it.

Wow, you know a cult is bad when it's Brazilian and yet somehow the music is terrible. Reminds me of this Spanish-speaking Pentecostal storefront church on Myrtle and Spencer in Brooklyn, late 90s/early 2000s, and what an affront to the rich musical heritage of Latin America their music was. Once I was talking with one of the doormen of a nearby building, Dominican guy, and he and I were practically in tears laughing. "¡Parece que el animal está herido!" ("Seems like the animal is wounded!") he said through his giggles.
