Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I spent many an afternoon there with Ernie when I used to go down to visit New Orleans in the late 90s. I had multiple friends who went to Tulane. They weren’t interested in the music as much as me. It was usually just me taking a cab down there. Antoinette was awesome as well. She helped revive a masking tradition in the African American community that had died out. They’re called Baby Dolls.

The KING. just picked up an expanded reissue of the Band’s rock of ages for a couple bucks a few weeks ago. really great story in the liner notes about how when Toussaint was on his was up to New York for the run of shows, someone mistakenly took his luggage from the airport which had all of the horn parts he had written for the performances. had to rewrite them all from scratch over a few days, said the rewrites were much improved since he was able to do them
while hanging with the band around woodstock and get a better feel for the guys and songs

Toussaint and Marshal Sehorn's imprint, along with Deesu and Tous-Sea. Sansu and Deesu were puns of the French phrases for five cents and ten cents

It was Allen’s label. Deesu was the sister label.
