"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

Google image search for "Jazz festival logo" is fun. Some common themes: 1) The letters in JAZZ are not aligned, like they are dancing around. 2) The letters in JAZZ are different colors. 3) Script fonts - but not as many as I'd expect. 4) People cannot resist turning the "J" into a saxophone (or turning a sax into a J?). 5) No skylines. Where are all the skylines?

Thanks very much for playing part of Escalator Over The Hill. It's a monumental work that features many of the best players of the era. I especially like the track Businessmen.

YB, *did they find a new dealer*?

I will click on any Chick Publications link, clearly. I wonder if their webmaster (they have one, right?) will see all the traffic coming from wfmu.org and think "it's finally working!"

I watched the 1966 Czech film The Daisies last weekend and the soundtrack made me think of your show, JA. I couldn't find any matches on the WoofMoo search though.

@HH: I ordered a box of these Bad Bobs and I used to give them away as party favors. But then the Chick company just kept sending me unsolicited samples, and some of them were really offensive (anti-Semtitic, anti-Islam), I had to make them stop. I've used "Bad Bob" as an on-air DJ name (on pirate radio!)

@Yeti Bob: Yes, I recommend seeing The Daisies. It's visually stunning. The message can be a bit bludgeon-y, but it's definitely worth seeing.

TCM has been featuring films by women directors, BTW. I've DVRd a bunch to watch at my leisure.
