@NGH, wow, I love languages but have never been that good at speaking. I can read a little Spanish and Russian here and there, but that's about it. Lots of Spanish-language things to read at work lately, but all the metadata is screwed up, BLARGH.

Maann, tell me about it! I had to write a dissertation in Greek last week, and I dont even speak much Greek; then I had to do a phone interview in Japanese (and my Japanese has really slipped lately!) I dont know how i got thru it!! Oh, and i am semi-fluent in 14 other languages.

@ike: My Mexi partner says I speak gringo Spanglish. So, Spanish isn't too hard. But Portuguese, I have to take the words, translate to Spanish, then translate to Portuguese. The only other languages I'm good at are German and Japanese (grew up in the latter). I know a wee bit of Russian and Polish, but just a few phrases. My Mandarin is mostly just a handful of phrases I learned when I was 13 on a trip to China.
