Live Performance by John Sheehan
John Sheehan is a masterful fingerstyle guitarist who has been compared to the likes of Leo Kottke, John Renbourne and Michael Hedges. John is equally at home with the traditions of European classical and American contemporary instrumental guitar styles. Sheehan is equally adept at lute and banjo, and he takes a tongue-in-cheek view of suburban life in his vocal numbers. John is also the figurehead of the New Jersey Fingerstyle Alliance (NJFA), a growing group of professional and amateur musicians sharing their knowledge and appreciation for eclectic fingerstyle guitar. He brought his guitar by the WFMU studios to pick out a few tunes from his newest album, "Notes From Suburbia." |
