I'm not sure you knowingly did this. However, the Stephen Bishop song is from the same St. Etienne compilation as the Bobbie Gentry song which Trouble played earlier. If it was not intentional, it is uncanny.

David in London:

kpx. Soho has always been the ‘bohemian’ part of central London. It always used to be rather dark and edgy, early rock and roll, Italian-influenced mod culture, film industry, porn cinemas, but post 80s it’s been considerably cleaned-up and gentrified. Still good to walk around and revel in though. Fitzrovia, to the north, is also very interesting and aesthetically appealing.

When I worked in a place called Peapack, NJ, in the 90s, I could get WPRB no problem, but I had to put the end of my dipole (wire) antenna inside of a sliced-open potato in order to pick up WFMU. My dad used to tune into WFMU in the mid-1980s. He was in Westchester County near the CT border. I showed him how to lean the radio antenna against a window screen in the guest bedroom to boost the signal. That's how I listened when I was home from college. YETI BOB:

Oh man, I just got out of a long work meeting and see that I missed a bunch of great music and chat about WFMU in the old days. I started listening in the 70s under the influence of my older brothers. We loved finding this crazy alternative to WPLJ and WPIX. So many WFMU stories I could tell. Visited the East Orange house a few times. Listened to hours of Irwin, Alan Watts, Subgenius, etc that really had a huge influence on my young and growing brain! Moved to Chicago around 1997 and was happy when WFMU started streaming.

Yeti Bob, that would make me very happy. I’m going out soon to meet my friend Tony, who shares the same birthday as me. We traditionally have a drink together the next day. Sadly I have to miss Fabio, but even he must take a back seat to ‘Whispering Tony’.
