This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

Soundtracking the oncoming storm beautifully, here in windy Brooklyn. Hi, @flash.
Avatar 8:14pm
Flash Strap:

@melinda: that Umiliani seems to be the soundtrack to an Italian "sequel" to Dassin's Rififi but I'm unclear as to further details
Avatar 8:16pm

Hi Jeff! honored and very happy to do so

Avatar 8:26pm
TDK60:

never heard this Moondog organ, yet.
Avatar 8:27pm
Flash Strap:

yeah i don't totally love Casanova either, though it really is an incredible production. There's no reason it shouldn't come off the way Satyricon does (which I love) but something just doesn't work. all-time great score from Rota though
Avatar 8:27pm

@TDK: very good moondog record imo

Space Station work music?
Avatar 8:54pm
Flash Strap:

absolutely insane experimental gay porno krautrock from the master Cowley
Avatar 8:56pm
Flash Strap:

actually I don't know if this was done for a porn soundtrack or not, but it's of a piece with his other work in that vein, which is generally my favorite. much as I dig the Menergy/Hi-NRG stuff, his film work is so much more mystical
Avatar 8:58pm
Flash Strap:

plus, the title indicates
  9:02pm

That Cowley title was merely being prescient about the effects of climate change.

I've always wondered--literally, since the album was released--whether Sensation's Fix meant the allusion to Prokofiev's piece (rather series of pieces) by the same name.

Avatar 9:28pm
Flash Strap:

also reminds me of Bo Hansson, but freer and wider in scope
  9:30pm
Dean:

One LP, of interest to me because Bill Bruford drummed on it, one of his session gigs. Paul Fishman went on to form Re-Flex, the "Politics of Dancing" one hit wonder. But some of this Thrue, setting aside the missing Bruford, sounds like outtakes from the album devoted to von Däniken's Chariots of the Gods.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:30pm
WR:

Curious about Gert Thrue, on discogs a drummer and synthesizer / keyboard performers are credited and Gert Thrue a separate credit as composer. Unless the band is getting credited. I dunno.
Avatar 9:33pm
Flash Strap:

i see two drummers credited and all the keys credited to Thrue, which reflects the info on the back cover as well
